Dubcnn: Wassup Prod, do you think The Game brought the west back?

Game made muthafuckas look this way again so now it’s time to keep that cracking. Come on man when did Game come out? How many years was it?

Dubcnn: 1-2 years.

Well we need some more Game’s. Hopefully Glasses gone blow up like Game did and Bishop gone blow up like Game did. Hopefully some of these new cats coming up will blow up like Game did and you know the West will start getting back. I think it’s going to take a blend of everything even some of the older cats. I think we need some older cats in the game strong. Maybe their not going platinum but they are still selling two or three hundred thousand.

Dubcnn: Yea exactly.

It always was a balance of that. You always had your groups that were selling a million units and you also had your groups that were selling five or six hundred thousand and then some that were selling two or three hundred thousand. Right now it’s like you sell a million plus or you flop.

Dubcnn: Yea, Daz new record came out and I was disappointed...Did you hear it?

No I ain’t heard it.

Dubcnn: Well it was banging but it only sold like 20 000+ copies the first week. It came in at Number 34 on the billboard though.

But at the same time though I seen a video with him and umm

Dubcnn: Rick Ross?

That Rick Ross cat but I think they need to put some more muscle behind that.

Dubcnn: I mean he is on So So Def so I was expecting at least 50 000.

I don’t think because you are So So Def it’s gone guarantee the sales. You got too push that shit like he going to sell a million the first week. They differentiate from artist to artist how much they going to put behind that shit to push it. I mean I don’t know what the situation is to be honest with you. I’m so caught up in my own shit I don’t know what it is.

Dubcnn: So where are you going to release your album now? Because the last few albums have not been promoted at all.

You know why you ain’t seen the last few albums? I’m going to tell you the real talk. The reason people ain’t seen for example “Westurrection” right? Well we did that album, I had a deal with the same cats that did the Eiht album “Veterans Day” okay? The album was supposed to come out June 2004 or 2005 anyway man that time I told you that it was supposed to come out in June.

Dubcnn: But it kind of got mixed up in Japan and it came out somewhere else…

Yeah that’s what I’m going to say... They put the dam record out in Japan first dogg. It got pirated it didn’t make no sense to put it out here Yash. You can go online and download that whole album loc. It fucked that whole album up and that fucked me up dude, that put a bad taste in my mouth.

Dubcnn: Are you still fuckin’ with those dudes or what?

Oh hell naw. But they got that “Westurrection” record so if it ever comes out…and you know man I ain’t mad at nobody. It’s business dude if you know your shit then you gone put a record out and you got too put it out in the States first then you go and put it out everywhere else or put it out everywhere at the same time.

You can’t put it out in Japan with the way the internet is now and think that it ain’t gone fuck you up dogg. I’m kind of holding on to that album man because that’s like a catalogue thing for me. You know all of the shit that I’ve been doing for the last 5-8 years are all catalogue shit that I own.

Dubcnn: You know what album people are feeling from the older albums that you put out that didn’t get the promotion that you deserved..

Yea that’s “All Day Everyday”..

Dubcnn: Yea that’s the best album but then after that people out here in Europe really feel the duo album you did with LV. Some people been asking what’s up with another duo album and I told them like I don’t know.

Well you know what dude me and LV going to do another one.

Dubcnn: Yea I’m telling you man as a friend and critic too from what I’ve been hearing the whole combination with the beats and everything was so fly. Everybody loved that record out here.

Well if I do it I got to be passionate about it. I’m not going to be like some of the people out here doing this shit for the dollar man muthafuckas giving me some crumbs here and some crumbs there.

Dubcnn: Yea man take your time and do that shit from the heart. Like Dresta always tells me I do the shit from the soul, the heart..

You know what I got love for Dresta because he ain’t taking no shorts. I don’t know what Dresta’s personal situation is financially but I can say one thing whatever his situation is he ain’t letting motherfuckers short change his talent and when I hear his music I feel it just like I did 10 years ago.

Now that’s the problem I have with a lot of music that comes out from the west. I hear it and it don’t do shit for me man. I don’t feel that shit like “Man this is the shit”… you know what I mean? I’m not getting that feeling dude. I ain’t going to lie when I hear Game I get that feeling.

I’m a crip nigga but when I heard that “One Blood” shit, I liked that shit.

Dubcnn: You know they played his single yesterday too.

Yea I heard it. Wasn’t it on Dubcnn?

Dubcnn: Yea, that shit is hot.

You gotta be that kind of passionate man and that’s why I’m shifting all my energy to Young Prod because he the shit for one and motherfuckers don’t realise how much the shit he is! And for two the dude still passionate about what he do.

Dubcnn: Yea you can hear it in his music..

Exactly, I’m focusing on Young Prod and Young Droop. All the shit that’s finna come out on Prodeje I’ve done already. Right now I’m doing the SCC album. The last SCC album as far as I’m concerned is “Chucking It Up”. I’m working on it and it ain’t coming out until next year.

It’s coming out though Yash; fo-real!

Dubcnn: Make sure the deal and promotion is good…

Yea you know we gone do what we do. It’s going to come out independently.

Dubcnn: What happened to your solo album?

That’s coming out through the same people, what happened was I fucked around and got behind and started to all kinds of other shit and through my whole shit off schedule. I just turned that album in 2 weeks ago. If my shit was going to come out this year I’d be caught up in that Christmas shit and right now I ain’t trying to get swallowed up by all of that.

So I had to kick back. Ain’t none of that shit coming out until next year loc. But it’s cool I’m going to touch it up and make sure everything is right by then.
