Dubcnn: We're sitting here with Tyga on dubcnn.com. Your interview with dubcnn has been a long time coming, so for those who don't know, let us know how did you hook up with Young Money?

Tyga: I hooked up with Wayne at the 06-07 VMA's, we performed together and ever since then we've been choppin it up, and became part of the crew.

Dubcnn: Its been poppin since then! What's it like being on a record label which has put out so many successful albums and artists that have major success? Do you feel pressure to do the same?

Tyga: I think we all do our own thing and we all have our own talents, but it's good to know that you have a family tree of success so if you need the help on your journey to success then you can look around and see it around you.

Dubcnn: A lot of people don’t know that you are from the West Coast because you don’t have that typical cliché West Coast sound and swag, you have your own style. Do you think that is to your advantage that you don’t sound like the other typical West Coast rappers?

Tyga: I think on the West Coast we always had different and unique styles. We haven't been getting a lot of recognition the last 5 years because everybody thinks everybody has to be like Snoop, Dre, and Ice Cube because we had a run and we changed hip-hop and we changed music. So now people are looking for that new change now, but we got a lot of good West Coast artists out right now.

Dubcnn: Who you feelin right now?

Tyga: Me, YG, Nipsey, and we got a lot of underground people as well.

Dubcnn: The Fan of a Fan mixtape that you did with Chris Brown was a success. How did you hook up with Chris and when are you guys dropping another mixtape or album?

Tyga: Me and Chris have always been cool but we never got to the level where we did music together. Then one day he came by the studio and I shot "Im So Raw" video that’s on youtube off a mixtape. He's like that’s dope lets make a mixtape together! So I flew down to Virginia and we recorded for about a week, we did about 3 songs a day just knocked it out! We are supposed to be going on tour hopefully soon so maybe in the near future we got more stuff coming out.

Dubcnn: I just want to get into your debut album that everybody has been waiting on Young Money. Could you give us some exclusives like who is producing on it so far and who is featuring on there?

Tyga: Its going to be a crazy album and its going to mean a lot and I think its going to put a great image on what I have to represent in music. The first two singles are actually produced by Pharrell. One is called "First Time" which is more for the ladies and the second record is called "Really Raw" with me, Snoop, and Game. Its really West Coast and its gonna be crazy, really raw. Me, Pharrell, Snoop and Game, the video is coming soon so you can look out for it in late December or early January for those two singles.

Dubcnn: Is the album 100% done or are you still looking for production?

Tyga: If I wanted to turn it in today I could but you can never limit yourself, so, I don’t think I am done yet.

Dubcnn: Now that you said that, what does a beat need to have for you to write to it and really get on it? What type of tracks are you looking for?

Tyga: Sometimes the music just has to tell the story without you trying to tell the story. It depends on the type of music you want to make. If it makes you feel good and party then you go with that. If it makes you feel like speaking on something real and doing a story then it’s the beat just has to have the story.

Dubcnn: Do you have a release date for the album yet?

Tyga: Not yet, we are looking at sometime early next year.

Dubcnn: What about the new mixtape you dropped? Are you happy with the results?

Tyga: Yeah its crazy! I actually recorded it with Drama. I just finished a tour with Drake in the States and I linked with Drama in Atlanta and he said we should do a mixtape. He has always been one of my favorite mixtape DJs with him doin the stuff with Wayne so I thought I got to do something like that but I have to kill it on every beat! I recorded it a while ago on tour, I had a studio on my bus and I just knocked it out! Right from the show, after, we went to the after-party and then I would just record.

Dubcnn: Since we had Obama as the president in the U.S., do you feel that he has had success and made the changes he has promised to make and do you feel like he is doing a good job or what could you do better?

Tyga: People still have to give him a little more time, but I could say that he definitely been encouraging people more and making people believe more that he will do these things. So I think its just giving him more time because a lot of these things don’t happen overnight, which some of the public may not understand.

Dubcnn: Another topic that’s really hot that people talk about is artist's being part of the Illuminati. Do you think it’s a conspiracy that’s made up or do you think there is truth to it?

Tyga: I think there's truth to it but I don’t think it has to do with anything as the artists. We are just the artists, we are just relaying the message. At the end of the day we have a job and we are getting paid for what we do and what we love to do. I think people just get caught up and don’t really know the real definition and the real meaning behind everything. You can't be part of that stuff like that, like you know how they're saying Jay Z is. You don’t know what people are doing in their personal life but just because people have success they are going to put you with certain things, but I don’t think none of that stuff is really true.

Dubcnn: Your sister Nicki has an album coming out, why do you think there are not too many female rappers in the game?

Tyga: Nicki's album is going to be crazy! I've been a fan of Nicki ever since she first started coming into the studio with no crazy hair colours! She was just sitting around in the studio so now to see her success and her dream come true it's really good because its true.

Dubcnn: Do you think artists such as yourself have any responsibilities towards the younger crowd and fans regarding what type of rap you got on your songs and what you portray in the videos?

Tyga: I think we do because it’s a self reflection and a mirror image of how we are. These kids look up to us. I'm not saying I make my music for kids, I do what I feel, its just a self reflection of how I am as a person and it relates to a lot of people. You know what it is Tyga Tyga Young Money chillin with Dubcnn.com you know how we doin!
