Dubcnn: What's going on Dub?

Just chilling man, out here in Copenhagen right now pushing this Lench Mob movement, letting them know that Ice Cube got a new album out called "Raw Footage". Also to let the fans that didn't get a chance to get up on Dub on the last album "Guilty By Affiliation" or who ain't seen Dub in a while over here in Denmark, to let them get a taste of this West Coast culture. It's been good too, it's been real good.

Dubcnn: You put out that "Guilty By Affiliation", what you been up to since then?

I've been on the road, been working. I'm in the middle of my new record right now, I got a new album coming out called "Return Of The Barracuda".

Dubcnn: Why that name?

Because that's that species in the world that's just full of bacteria, so much shit that it has consumed over the years... if it bites you, it's curtains! It's a wrap! I done been through so much throughout my career that it's like, I'm the wrong muthafucka to deal with man. That's how I feel towards the rap game, dealing with the industry. I don't wanna play by their rules no more, I done got a taste of this independent life and I'm good! That's why I urge all the upcoming artists out there, all the producers, anybody that's trying to get down: don't hesitate to go out there and do it independently. You might not get all that money up front or a big advance, but what you get is yours. You own your masters.

Then if you sit down and go negotiate a deal with a major, you can have it your way. Whatever you sold, whatever you worked, the merchandize and everything, they gotta sit down at the table and give you that shit. For real. That's the business side of it, a lot of us don't like to talk about the business side, we just like the show, the bling bling and the videos. A lot of the bullshit, not the real shit. So that's where we're at with it right now.

Dubcnn: There are talks about a new Westside Connection project right now... What's up with that?

Uhm you know, we're gonna let everybody use their mind. I can't really elaborate on what's going on, we're gonna leave it up to the fans.

Dubcnn: You got a song on Cube's album with you Game and Cube called "Get Use To It"...

Yeah, get used to it! Just to get muthafuckas talking. It gets worse than that though, it gets worse than that. Definitely.

Dubcnn: What's your personal relationship with Mack 10 right now?

All good. I ain't got a problem with nobody in the industry. If there was anybody I had a problem with, I'd be very vocal about it and I'd let that individual know I got a problem with him. But as far as Mack 10, everybody just went their own ways. I went out to do my solo thang, Cube had something jumping off on the solo side independently and he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I own my masters and I just feel good right now. I'm supporting the homie and his movement.

As far as Mack 10, I don't have no problems with him, I wish him all the success in the world. You can't get me to say nothing bad - not to say that you are trying to - but nobody could get me to say something negative or bad about him. He's always been solid and 100 with me, so I don't have no problems whatsoever with him. I wish him all the success in the world, but right now with what I got going on, I'm pushing WC and supporting this Lench Mob thang. I was there from day one, Lench Mob is me, I am Lench Mob.

Dubcnn: Where's the beard at?

I chopped it off man, a while back! If you got my last album, you'd know that muthafucka been gone! *laughs* It was gone a while back!

Dubcnn: I didn't even notice.

You didn't trip! *laughs* Check this out, this muthafucka about 2-3 years late! *laughs* That's why ya'll gotta tune in to dubcnn so we can put ya'll up on game! For real! But yeah I chopped that shit a while back. It's just with the music and everything, you can still stay gangsta with it but at the same time, ain't nothing wrong with switching it up sometimes. It's all under the category of keeping it hood, but at the end of the day you gotta switch it up.
I ain't gonna be 50-60 years old running around with braids doing the same thang, I had to switch it up. I've been blessed to be in this game for a while and still have relevance, have youngsters coming up walk in the footsteps that I helped build on the West Coast. I just want to continue to get out there and push, not just in the name of gangsta rap, but for a lot of artists coming up from the West Coast - cause that's the label that they put on us. That's where we're at with it.

Dubcnn: I remember I was talking to you a few days ago and gave you this idea for a supergroup...

Yeah man, I remember you was telling me. I said "what's your wish list?"

Dubcnn: I said Tech N9ne, WC, Crooked I, Chino XL and I think I said either Brotha Lynch Hung or Jayo Felony.

Yeah I think you said Jayo Felony. And I fuck with all of them, I'm a fan of all of them. I'm a fan of a lot of new niggas coming up too. I'm a fan of the music. I just be looking for something different, I'm trying to find it in my music. It's all under the umbrella of gangsta rap but we're just trying to do something different, that's all. I'm fans of everybody you just named and that would be something different! We might get together and kick it off with one song and see what the reaction will be! Let's let the fans type in and tell us what they wanna hear, what they wanna see.

But Dub is in it, been here, riding with the homie Ice Cube, pushing this Lench Mob thing and it just don't stop. We're on the other side of the world right now and everywhere we're going we're selling out! The fans is really enjoying the show, no matter how long we've been in the gmae we still go out there as if it was our first time picking up a mic and being anxious of going to rip the mic. Before we go out there, we treat it like a game, it's hype. We take our craft serious, and this is something that we've been doing for the longest. I don't really know of too many people that could fuck with our show. We keep it real, two turntables, two microphones.

Dubcnn: I know ya'll gotta go on in a second, is there anything else you wanna let everybody know?

Yeah, I wanna let everybody know that's out there supporting this West Coast thing, keep pushing it. We're gonna ride till the wheels fall off. If you want that uncut, that raw, ya'll can come get it right here at Lench Mob Records. You know it don't stop. Be looking out for a lot of new things coming out, we not stopping at all, pushing under that umbrella, that W.
