Dubcnn: How did you meet with the other members of Geto Boys?

Very carefully..na I actually knew Bushwick from just being around you know Bushwick used to work in the club he used to be a busboy at the club and he was also like a dancer for the Geto Boys you know the previous members. When they first started...

Scarface I met him well let me back up a little bit I was writing some new songs for the new Geto Boy album but I was not gonna be in the group I was writing them some new songs and the members did not like what I was writing. I was writing songs like Do It Like A G or Let a Hoe Be A Hoe..They didn't like it because they thought it was umm

Dubcnn: Too gangsta?

yea they thought it was to vulgar. So J Prince owner of rapalot made an ultimatum and said look man you gotto do this shit or ya'll can leave the group so they left the group and did solo projects.
Jukebox left the group all together Jonny C he did a solo project and J Prince came to me and asked me to be a member of the group so it was myself Ready Red who was a DJ and Jukebox was actually gone be a member.

Scarface I met when we were gonna record the album for the first day. I met him, he was in the van when J came to pick us up We went to the studio and that's how we started on that album actually same nite that we were recording Jukebox had some personal problems so he quit the group that nite and Bushwick Bill was sitting around..

We were not gonna have like a dancer we weren't gone be into that shit but he was just hangin around in the studio reciting Public Enemy songs and I peeped overthere and watched him whatever and I was like man that be something if people would see a midgit rappin specially talking about kickin somebody's ass.

So I posed the idea to everybody else they were happy cause I asked them let me write him something if he can put it off he in the group. And J was like well we'll see man so that same nite I wrote"It Ain't Shit". We recorded it about 3 days later and that's how Bill ended up in the group.

Dubcnn: Why didn't you and Scarface put Bushwick Bill on the last Geto Boys album?

Well it didn't really have anything to do with us Bill had some problems with the lable and we wanted to do a new Geto boy album and we didn't know how long those problems was gonna last so we did the album without him. Not because we didn't wanna do it but it was just that he had some contractual issues.

Dubcnn: So what made you guys come back and do a new Geto Boys album now?

I know for me it was two things first of all the interest was there alot of the fans was asking for it secondly for me it was a good move financially for me put me back into the thicker thangs and do what I have to do too put all these other solo endevours I have on the music side of thangs .

Dubcnn: Are you still into boxing and do you still plan to move out of the united states?

I already moved I actually live in Bakur Azerbajghan .

Dubcnn: Oh yea?? dam cool when did you move?

Back in umm august

Dubcnn: How do you like it there?

It's cool it's cool you know Im just down here promoting the album doin what I gotto do here then Im going back after the album is released.

Dubcnn: Are you still into boxing?

Im done I got it out my system, it was fun loved it needed it.

Dubcnn: What kinda guest appearances will you have on the new album?

Oh there's no guests.

Dubcnn: That's dope because alot of guys have like 15 guests on an album.

I think guest is overrated I think it does an injustice to the fans because their not buying a group album, their not buying a particular artist their buying compilations these days. Compilation albums are being released. It's not fair when somebody can go up on stage and get the album of the year when they released a compilation. When they get album of the year then 20 muthafuckaz should walk up there with them and all of them should get an award.
*laughs*

Dubcnn: Yea it feels like they putting somebody on it just to sell the album.

Yea I know if I buy a Nelly album I wanna hear Nelly I don't wanna hear all his homeboys well I take that back if he's tryna put on some new guys that's never been heared and he have them on a couple of songs thats cool that's still good but I don't wanna hear Nelly with Garth Brooks, Tim Mcirt aaw Willie Jackson, LL Cool J you know I don't wanna hear all that shit.

I wanna hear Nelly because obviously you buy Nelly because you like Nelly you bought the album cause you loved what he had to say the first time around all those other people was not on the album.

Dubcnn: Whats the new album called and when is it droppin?

The Foundation, January 25th.

Dubcnn: Who would you like like to work with?

I would just like to work with anybody that wanna fuck with me anybody that wanna work with me Im not starstruck so anybody that wanna work with me that got they shit together that's who I work with.

Dubcnn: Do you have beef with anyone in the rap industry?

No because if I did it wouldn't be no beef it would be a "diseased" you know I don't play like that I carry myself in this music industry saying what I did before I got into this music industry you know if they gone be walking around talking down on my name disrespecting me in no kind of way just because I make music and you think that gives you a right and say whatever you wanna say you know if you lucky you might get a warning and that's it.

Im not gonna be on the phone going back and forth with you fuck you muthafuckin ass etc etc going through all that shit and Im not gonna be goin back and forth on no records. Back and forth back and forth noo some muthafucka gone get plugged somebodys blood gone spill...

Dubcnn: What are your thoughts of the rap game.. ?

I think the quality of music has decayed I don't think the importance of it has decayed as far as the level that it's on right now. With the earning power of rap you know the imagery I don't think none of that has decayed all of that has evolved, is elevated but umm you know we start talking about just the quality of music I think the quality has because people don't expect too much.

Fans don't really expect too much about the music just a hook and a beat and that's it and all the beats you know they all sound the same. You know it used to be a time when you hear a beat and people be like wow that's a Geto Boy beat that's a NWA beat that's a LL Cool J beat or a Run DMC beat now everybody use the same producer all the music sound alike there's very little variation in the music.

Dubcnn: How was it recording this new album together again was it like the old times yall have fun in the studio?

No it was nothing like the old times this was the most tiring fucking album to ever work on.. EVER Period.

Dubcnn: Foreal?

Yea because the commitment was not there you know everybody was not on the same page, we started the album in October and the album didn't get finnished until I think it was March you know normally we go in the studio and we're done with an album inside of 4 weeks.

All done period.. done! Our first album took us 10 days to complete. It's not hard to the an album because creatively and the chemistry is there, personalitywise on a personal level it's not but creatively the chemistry has always been there. We don't have to scratch our heads on comin up stuff for people to feel.

Dubcnn: what can we expect from this new geto boys cd....what kind of things yall touch on?

Well life..Life savours topics you know even if you're talking about a broad we're dealing with broads and still are life saviours you know..It's umm peserted...*laughs*..I mean it's G B you know how we do.

Dubcnn: What do you think about the gangsta pop thats on the radio?

*laughs* never heared that expression...

Dubcnn: you know where they got the singers doing the hooks for gangsta rappers who are doin R&B songs stuff like that..

oh *Laughs* for like 10 seconds Well yea you know if it works it's fine. Some of it sounds good some of it sounds forced. You know I mean really if you think about it rap you know r&b comes from rap first of all you know so it makes sence that it goes together. I mean I wouldn't wanna hear a whole album of it though and personally I like my rap to be rap and my r&b to be r&b. But like when Ja Rule puts it together shit sounds good but I still couldn't listen to a whole album of it nomatter how good it is.

Dubcnn: Will you guys be going on tour when this album drops?

I don't know you know all I can say is we got a member in the group that's on some personal shit that's on the team but playing some Kobey ball so who knows man.

Dubcnn: Do you know where Big Mike is?

Shit I couldn't tell you.. I actually spoke to him about a month ago but I couldn't tell you where he is.

Dubcnn: What's he up to these days?

Last time I heared he was trying to record an album a single or something.

Dubcnn: Did Mike Dean produce any tracks on this new Geto Boys album?

Not that I know of...na na Yea one track...one that I know of.

Dubcnn: Will you fuck with him on your solo album?

Na, Mike Dean work to muthafucking slow when Im ready to go to work Im ready to got to work. Im very Professional and very ??? I know what I want and I go right after it. I don't play games with my shit you know I get in I get out.

Dubcnn: Have you started working on your solo album too?

Yes sir yes sir.

Dubcnn: How far are you?

Well actually I got a whole lot of songs and first week of january Im gonna start to look at what I have and see what I need to add if anything.

Dubcnn: Can you tell us one of the funniest things that happened on tour with Geto Boys?

Funny?

Dubcnn: Yea something that comes to mind!

*starts Laughing* shiit hmmm

Dubcnn: Like some crazy thing that happened.

I don't really remember funny shit I just remember when people got their asses kicked! Yea I remember this dude talking shit in the audience one day and I jumped out in the audience well actually he threw a glass up on the stage and I jumped out in the audience and smashed his ass...Well that happened a few times I had to do that a few times.

Dubcnn: You just kept on rappin afterwards or?

Yea I went right back in like I said I don't start shit man I give people their room I give people their space I really do treat people like I wanna be treated. You know whether Im rappin or not you gone respect me as a man so if someone out the audience say fuck you this etc more than likely it gone get their ass knocked out.

That's how you really know if a person is a real Hoe or not! If a man is a hoe or not you know a real man is self confident he really wouldn't put himself outthere like that. What reason would you pay to see somebody or even if you got in for free what reason would you have to come to somebodys show and talk shit.

Dubcnn: Jealousy or some shit!

Yea, majour jealousy!

Dubcnn: Do you have any last words for the fans?

Yea stop buying that bullshit and come on over to the dot... *laughs* no Im fucking with you...You know what I like to do man I like the fans to be independent thinkers be independent man don't get caught up in this phasad that hiphop has created. Thinking that the money and the cars jewlary and women in the videos are what makes a person who we are. It's alot of the fans that are just caught up in this world and even in highschool you know kids are feeling the pressure to buy a big fake chain goin to magazines buying these chains for 45 or 100 dollars these cubic..what you call them..

Dubcnn: yea I know what you mean Cubic zirconia..

Yea they buying this shit and they thinking I got to have this chains to look important I gotto have this ring on my finger to look important they caught up in that shit and as long as you're trying to catch up with somebody you never be able to see it.

Everytime you trying to catch you never ever catch up because there's always somebody doing better than you. So I say don't get caught up in that shit because the video girls their not real..they are not fucking real most of these artists don't get no pussy from these video girls *laughs* you wanna be anything be a director because he's the one that's getting all the pussy.

Dubcnn: Yea because he putting them in there.

Yea don't get caught up in that shit don't get caught up in the cars all that kind of shit get caught up in what you do make your way whatever your way is whatever you're trying to do make your way in and all of that shit is the last thing you should be wanting.

That's excess because everyone likes nice jewlary but nice jewlary don't have to be a 50 000 dollar ring a nice jewlary don't have to be a 80 000 dollar piece medallion you feel me? A nice car don't have to be a 90 000 dollar Benz. All of that shit can come down the road..That shit is excess but alot of kids alot of the younger people even if they would to obtain some of this stuff they wouldn't sustain it because they don't have a plan to keep it they only have a plan to get it.
