Dubcnn: How old are you and when did you start writing rhymes for the first time?

Shit right now Young Prod's 27, I started writing rhymes when I was in the 4th grade I think I was like 9 or 7 years old. Man I started wayback in the days.

Dubcnn: So who inspired you to start rappin was it your brother Prodeje?

I mean off the back yea Big Prod you know what Im saying was my main inspiration because at the time a nigga was poor we wouldn't havin cable and shit comin to the house so I wasn't seeing no other artist or whatever you know radio's blastin everywhere so my main focus was Big Prod.

I seen everything he did that sparked my love for it but as I got into the game you know I learned about cats like Kool G Rap and Rakim I mean the grimy niggaz in the business and thats what really fueled me.. My love and my spark go back to King T, Mc Breed and NWA.

Dubcnn: You dropped an album called "Diablo Flame On" back in 98 many people slept on that album which I thought was one of the better albums that year. How was it working on that album?

I mean it don't be like working on an album it be like working on my life..I be myself there when Im doing my music so shit is like selftherapy so when Im doing my music It's reflecting my life, it's something out of my life I don't give a fuck if it's a conversation if it was important to me I try to get it out on my music best way I can.

But really I don't feel like muthafuckaz slept on the Young Prod album what happened was it was the company didn't have the finance to keep it pushin but all in all we sold every unit we put out so to me it was an accomplishment. That's my first album, I ain't one of them MC's that be like this ain't my first record...this my first record now cause it's majour..THat was me that was my first record I embrace it helped me grow.

Dubcnn: So how many units did it sell?

I think all in all it sold like 13 000 units you know my biggest sales was in New York though so that was an accomplishment for itself.

Dubcnn: I heared somewhere on Prod's forum that back in the day LV got shot.. What happened?

Well shit you know that was way before the music. That was all real life right there nigga was on the block you know what Im saying.. neighbourhoods don't get along certain neighbourhoods so nigga came through and poped him up they said he was gonna be paralized for the rest of his life but my nigga walking right now so miracles happen.

Dubcnn: Are you and Prodeje from the same gang?

yea shit that's my Big Brother so you can say yea we're from the same gang.

Dubcnn: Tell the fans about the new SCC album called "Random Violence"!

It's not to be looked at like oh this a gang of bullshit music a gang of fuck you bitch this bitch that "Random Violence" is about what's still going on right here in LA in South Central and on the westcoast.

Alot of people get rich and they tend to forget that it's bad times going on and they want you to change the way you talk or the way you rap or the shit you say when you still there and you see the random violence as the album's called it's hard to shake that you can't not just accept that so "Random Violence" is speaking to the people that's still where we at not sayin their not tryna change but not escaping the situations we in right now it's a honour to those people right there.

Dubcnn: I really love the song "The Block" with you and that girl whos singin people are lovin it I played it for a couple of people at the party last weekend shit was tight!

is that right?

Dubcnn: yea who's the girl singin?

That's Dina Rae you know the one that's on Eminem's records and shit

Dubcnn: Oh Yea??

Yea that's my homegirl man way before she got with Eminem and shit

Dubcnn: What song is she on..

ummm dam I forgot the name of that shit man but she got a song on every Eminem record she came out on every one of them.

Dubcnn: Dam that's crazy I didn't know that.. So who is signed right now to Prod's lable?

As far as signed we got some prospects ain't nobody actually inked in you know it's a certain quartirial we fuck with if you ain't comin in our clique you can't hang with Young Prod and we focusing on Young Prod and SCC right now.
Puttin our forum back down but we got it cool though

Dubcnn: so what's the news on your new solo album?

I say 90% finnished I need to put some endz on it but overall it's the hottest shit coming out on the west not just the west but this game Im finna take this game not just back to the west but back to real music so Im'a drop this mixtape first you know called "Survive Or Die" then Im'a drop the album "Fear Factor" sometime next year (2005) hopefully.

Dubcnn: Oh yea? when is the mixtape coming?

Early January.

Dubcnn: Who do you got featured on the album so far?

Shit last time on the first Diablo album I made sure I had my niggaz on there my niggaz that was down with me that mashed with me but you know I have learned alot through that so this album is really a pedistal to put me outthere you know.

Only artist I actually got there is Big Prod he only on one track and I got a track with my cousin Droop from the Floc and 2 with my homie Gangsta Wayne but that's it basically it's just a pedistal to let me shine and let niggaz know they can't fuck with me.

Dubcnn: Are you looking to sign to a lable or drop it Independantely?

It would be lovely if I could get a lable deal that would be cool but I don't want no lable deal with just a corporate muthafuckaz because I want a muthafucka that's gone understand where Im coming from somebody's that's believing in my shit.

I know the shit about money I wanna make it too but I don't wanna just sign with umm a muthafucka that I ain't shaking his hand Im a man so I wanna sit and talk with muthafuckaz that ain't afraid of me basically that ain't scared of where I come from and ain't scared of how I get down. So if I gotto go independent I'd go if I can get majour heey you know what Im sayin who wouldn't want it.

Dubcnn: So what kinda subjects and Topics will you speak on the new album?

Im telling you man Young Prod Young Cali I speak on everything from fat bitches wanting to loose weight to the skinny girls want to get breast implants to how I love my momma to how I love my kids how a nigga still in the streets.

How shit ain't stop you know what Im sayin. I basically speak about Life Real Life not just from not just the aspect of Im a gangsta im coming out the hood but just life muthafuckaz don't cover life. Muthafuckaz cover fab and flossin IM COVERING REAL LIFE RIGHT NOW!

Dubcnn: Do you have any political songs on there?

Always you know I got one called Walk This Way. It speak about basically remembering from Tupac dropped it off about Latasha Harland Im still remembering Rodney King and the riot.

Im still remembering the cat in Inglewood that got choked and beat up you know. Im still remembering all that so I try to stay political even when it's a party song Ima say something.

One thing you gotto understand is when you controlling peoples ears when its a party song or whatever you still got a chance to say something or whatever you say it even if you taken up 2 to 4 bars to just say that out of a whole song you say it you know thats how I get down so I try to keep it political Ima keep it gangsta cuz Im gangsta and Ima keep it real you know what Im sayin all levels how Im coming Ima say something thats gone make you think.

Dubcnn: That's tight man so will you be on the new Murder Squad album?

It depends man on how the business is It's alot of politicalness with that right now if we can get the business worked out then yea you will see Young Prod on it but umm basically if you see something come out of our situation that Young Prod ain't involved in It's not usually cuz Im on everything that comeout of a situation or a camp. It's the business..It's cause the business wasn't right that's where my head is right now.

Dubcnn: Who's handling that Murder Squad Project?

Actually Havoc the mouthpiece is handling the project. Prod is doing some of the production on there but Mouthpiece is in control of that album right there.

Dubcnn: I hear Havick the Rhymeson is back working with you guys?

He's family that's my cousin.

Dubcnn: Why wasn't he on the latest Cartel albums?

Politics man..Where we come from it don't take much for a nigga to go back to what he know or do what he used to survive on doin. So when politics come to the business and love it destroys it so for alot of people that ain't heared from SCC Young Prod or whatever Young Murder Squad or Murder Squad it's just been politics and niggaz been going outside of the game right now.

But WE'RE BACK SO it's gonna be problems if we don't keep it real to the roots you know what Im saying Im born from NWA Im born from Ice Cube and everything else and anything born after that is born from SCC! We just finna let them know our place in this game and they gone respect it or get out the way!

Dubcnn: Yea I feel you..Who do you prefer working with beside the Cartel?

Man Actually I WANNA WORK WITH KURUPT!

Because actually right now I feel like Kurupt spit what he need to be spittin you know he one of the most DANGEROUS MC'S that ever touched the hiphop game and I figure Im one of them niggaz that gone come at you and make you spit better cuz I want you to make me spit better so It would be crusial for muthafuckaz to view Kurupt and see what he do so I think I'd give him an inspiration. I love to spit with Kurupt you know what Im saying.

Dubcnn: Will you be on any projects comin out besides the solo and mixtape and SCC?

Actually Yea The YOUNG MURDER SQUAD did a project but right now Im just finna hit the studio and be gettin back into all the underground artists shit Im finna be everywhere poppin up anywhere you just gone have to watch out for me.

Dubcnn: What do you guys do in the studio is it like stricly professional you go in the booth lace the track or do you guys clown and shit sometimes?

It's like I said man when Im in the studio It don't stop Im not one of them MC's like "oh I gotto have it quiet" you know what Im saying all that bullshit you know I do this life ain't quiet so when Im in the studio Im tryna give you my life so whatever is going on sometimes that shit make me write music.
It just depends on the mode and zone you in it really don't matter to me though.

Dubcnn: The next part of the interview I just say two words and you just tell me which one you prefer alrite?

Dubcnn: LV or Nate Dogg

Neither one!

Dubcnn: Weed or Alcohol

Weed

Dubcnn: Big Tits or Big Ass

Both *laughs*

Dubcnn: Lowriders or Sportscars

Lowriders

Dubcnn: Deathrow Record Deal or Aftermath

aw man you know thats hard it's different reasons it's like Deathrow Now? or Deathrow when like Pac was around and it was crackin!

Dubcnn: When Pac was around!

Deathrow! Just to be around pac.

Dubcnn: Where you ever in the studio when Prod was working with Him?

I was always there you know what Im saying every step of the way I was right there man from seeing Pac, Scarface everybody man. I do it right now to this day because of all these niggaz that been through this game the niggaz that everybody praise in this game

You know I had the talent to never stop. So if they ain't stoppin I ain't stoppin you know what I mean I been there man with all them niggaz.

Dubcnn: Who are you feeling from the westcoast right now?

Sly Boogie and Crooked I!

Dubcnn: Do you like The Game or Guerilla Black?

They can rap man it's not a dissrespect for me to say I don't like them. They can rap but to me it's nothing different to the game per say but they don't bring to much different to the game for one Guerilla Black sound like Biggie but he can rap he's a dope ass rapper but it been done before. The Game he a dope rapper straight up I mean I can't hate on that but they won't be in my cd player.

Dubcnn: Compton is really getting there with the Buzz and stuff Game, Guerilla Black and SPit Fiya how can you guys put South Central back in the mainstream?

With Young Prod...I guarantee you when Young Prod aka Young Cali hit the map man South Central will get it's due respect and that's what it's about man. You gone Man up or Move out! And when I come South Central's gone get theirs.

If we gotto take it or whatever we gone get it and any nigga wanna go at it on the mic we can go at it from Compton to Inglewood, Longbeach, New York, Phylli whereever they wanna take it Im man. Im game for it.

Dubcnn: What's your favourite SCC song of alltime?

It's a song called "Knocc On Wood". You know about "Knocc On Wood" the remix?

Dubcnn: Yea with Bg Knocc Out and them...

Yea that's my favourite SCC song of alltime!

Dubcnn: Are you gonna work with Knocc Out when he gets out? He getting out next year!

Yea most definetly that's my nigga you know what Im sayin me and Knoccout was the close as a muthafucka so when he touch down it's only right to get down with that nigga you know what I mean. I know he gone ride for the west anyway he needed to the game.

Dubcnn: Tell us one of the funniest things that went down when you guys where on tour?

One time we was at umm Phoenix no we was at Portland. We was on stage you know performing we where throwing out the tapes and shit the niggaz in the audience they was from the other side or whatever they taking out the tapes out the tape cases and they throwing the tape cases back at us so one nigga sent his bitch to come set me up to come rob me right we end up switchin hotels.

I fucked the niggaz bitch and the bitch homegirl tell me the next day that you know that what was suppose to happen so to me that was funny! So I found that funny the nigga thought he was gonna rob a nigga so we ended up switchin hotel and that killed the whole game.

Dubcnn: alrite man that's about it do you have any last words for the fans?

Man shit like I said "SURVIVE OR DIE" 2005 you got "FEAR FACTOR" that's Young Cali it's me and South Central gonna kill them once again!
