The album is set to feature tracks by Crooked I featuring Truth Hurts, Sly Boogy, Lady of Rage, RBX, Bo Roc (of The Dove Shack), Eastwood and TriStar along with some up and coming west coast artists. G-Flow hit up dubcnn earlier this month to inform you all that as "Armageddon" won't be out until early next year, he has decided to drop a precursor called, "Armageddon: The Prequal," to hype you for the complete release.

"The Prequal," as we reported, will feature some of the artists from the "Armageddon" album doing original tracks in mixtape fashion as a teaser for the album when it drops. We dropped G-Flow's remix of The Game's Dreams in the last update and G-Flow hit us up again; this time with tracks from "Armageddon: The Prequal." Below are those tracks and an image of G-Flow in the studio. Click the news image to see a full size cover of "The Prequal" cover.

news The Replacementz - September 27, 2005 By : DJ Papa Smirf

Hip-Hop is in for a change of guard. Two young artists are currently cultivating their talents, while in the last leg of their college careers. They are Tec Beatz and Juice, collectively known as The Replacementz. The two, who are both lyricists and producers, have been a team since the respect of their peers brought them together during their sophomore year at Clark Atlanta University.

Each of them had transformed their dorm rooms into makeshift production studios; and though they did not know each other, Tec and Juice were making music in sync. "My friends came down and told me there was some dude down the hallway making beats too," recalls Tec. "I got down to his room, and he was doing the same stuff I was doing. Same type of music and all that." Since then, The Replacementz have fallen into the perfect dynamic with Tec as the producer and Juice as the lyricist of the group.

What gives them an edge over many other young up-and-comers is that each artist understands the other's style and skill. "I can do things to his beats that other people probably would be scared to do," says Juice. Their unique sound, which Tec defines as "futuristic," combines the soulfulness of the Midwest with the crunk rhythms of the South and the lyricism of the East Coast; a versatility which comes from Tec and Juice's individual musical backgrounds.

Born and raised in Chicago, Juice's interests in the music business were sparked by his brother, who is ten years older than him. "He was one of my role models," he explains, "so everything he did, I wanted to mock." When Juice was in the 8th grade, his brother released a single, which inspired Juice to seriously consider a career as an MC. While Chicago artists like Twista, Do or Die, and Crucial Conflict were exposing the world to "fast rap," Juice felt at a young age that the game needed something new. Thanks to his older brother, he had been exposed to more than just the Chicago sound, listening to MC Eiht, Geto Boyz, Nas, Jay-Z, and Three 6 Mafia. In high school, Juice and his best friend formed a group and took the underground scene by storm. Once he relocated to Atlanta, though the distance put a strain on his group, Juice's personal career goals remained undeterred.

Tec Beatz grew up in Gainesville, GA in a family of musicians. Fascinated by the sounds to which he was constantly exposed by his uncles, he knew at a young age that the music itself was what he was interested in making. After one of his uncles gave him a drum sequencer when he was in the 7th grade, Tec started making beats and never looked back. His natural talent was strengthened by a formal education acquired through years as a percussionist in both his high school band and the Clark Atlanta University marching band. When other lyricists were slow to catch Tec's vibe, he made himself into the MC needed to navigate his sound. "I'm looking ahead to the future. I might not live to see it, but that's how my mind set is," he states. "I try to make the most futuristic sounding music as possible."

Less than two years since The Replacementz got together, they have attained an impressive level of success both in and outside of Atlanta. Supported by their management, Division 1 Entertainment, they have performed on stages ranging from college talent shows to the first annual Vibe Music Fest, and have collaborated with such mainstream artists as T.I. and Stat Quo. And so impressed was the latter, that he endorsed and hosted The Replacementz first mixtape, The Panic Room Mixtape, Vol. 1. In addition to their own mixtapes, The Replacementz have also been featured on mixtapes by some of the most respected DJs in the game, including DJ Drama, DJ Don Cannon, and DJ G-Spot. In March of 2005, the group released The Panic Room Mixtape Vol. 2, featuring their first single, "Worldwide." They are in the studio constantly, taking advantage of every opportunity to continue to hone their skills, while expanding their already impressive catalogue. The group has gotten the attention and support of several major players in the game. As Stat Quo said, "The Replacementz are the real deal! Check for anything these young cats are doing along with the Division 1 Entertainment staff."

"If you want something you've never had, you must do things you've never done"

news Bishop Lamont - I'm A Soldier - September 26, 2005 By : Nima

Bishop Lamont has arrived! Aftermath's newest signee is currently in the studio with Dr. Dre, as the whole camp is working on Dre's highly anticipated album "Detox", which will probably see the light of day sometime in 2006.

Until Bishop gets to shine on the 'Math, he'll be staying on his street grind which got him where he is now, and keep dropping heat on mixtapes and soundtracks. You might have heard the song I got for ya'll right now, but if you haven't, this is a must check. It's from "E-A Sports Soundtrack Vol. 1" and was produced by Da Riffs, so you know it's gonna be dope. It sounds like Tony Yayo is doing ad-libs on the chorus, no confirmation on that though...

A hard ass track, check it out below:

news Kardinal Offishall "Fire & Glory" - September 26, 2005 By : Adon

Kardinal has changed many preconceived notions of what a hip-hop artist is. He doesn't hail from New York, L.A. , or Atlanta; he embraces his Canadian Jamaican heritage. He is the unofficial ambassador of Toronto.

At least when it comes to hip-hop, Kardi's positive outlook was strained by label drama that saw his then-label, MCA, absorbed into Geffen in 2003 right before the release of the now-scrapped "F-Word Theory", the official follow-up to 2001's "Firestarter Vol. 1: Quest for Fire". While shopping around for a new deal, the patois-spitting, triple-threat rapper/producer/singer guested on a slew of remixes from Neptunes affiliates Clipse's "Grindin" to UK grime star Lethal Bizzle's "Pow!".

Now with a new home, Kardi is getting ready to relase his new LP "Fire & Glory". We have the tracklisting and a preview track for you to check out.

TRACK LISTING:

1. Last Standing Soldier
2. E.G.G. (Everybody Gone Gangsta) ft. Vybz Kartel
3. Heads Up
4. Everyday (Rudebwoy) ft. Ray Robinson
5. The Best Man
6. Freshie ft. Ro Dolla
7. Sunday
8. Kaysarasara ft. Estelle
9. Neva New (Till I Kissed You)
10. Mr. Officer ft. Rene Neufville (formerly of Zhané)
11. Whatchalike ft. Busta Rhymes

He hopped on the extended version of "All In The Same Gang 2005" recently and DubCNN had the chance to catch up with this new face on the West at Kingz Records in West Covina.

We chopped it up about the Young Compton mixtape, his next project Prince Of The Bity, his schooling, he showed us his favorite albums, and blessed us with a Freestyle. The music in the background is a little loud, but you can still hear Hootie just fine.

news D.C.'s Head-Roc Album Download - September 23, 2005 By : SGV

Over the past ten years Head-Roc has been regarded as the best that D.C. Hip Hop has to offer. Dubbed "The Mayor" of the D.C. Hip Hop Community, Head-Roc has come to embody the talented and all too ofter over looked scene. He released his solo debut, The Return Of Black Broadway, in 2004 to critical acclaim and top spots on College radio stations. The buzz was enough for Heady to tour Europe and the West Coast. His movement translated into a Hip Hop Album of the Year Award from the Washington Area Music Association in 2005.

Now he's pushing his sophomore release, Negrophobia. Heady holla'd at DubCNN to put it for him for a few days. Here's what he had to say about the album:

"Expect a reminder of "great history" of our nation that we live in. A reminder of how supremacy treats those who are inferior. All that wrapped in some great fuckin music!"

When asked what his favorite song from album was and what we can expect in the future: "I like "Bernard Hopkins" the most, it's the most unique song on the album. [As for the future] I'm on the grind, looking to find funding to distribute this album. AND still trying to get around the world again!"

If you're in the D.C. area head out to the Washington Monument on September 24th. Heady and Bay Area group The Coup will be performing Operation Cease Fire along with a host of Punk, Country, Soul and Latin groups. The official site for the event stats: "this event will be a centerpiece of what is expected to be 4 days of enormous protests in nation's capital in support of a full withdrawal of U.S. forces from the quagmire in Iraq."

Back to the album! Below is the tracklisting with 2 songs for you to preview. They're Radio edits, get the explicit versions when you download the whole album.

Tracklist:

01. "Glory" Intro
02. Chris Columbus
03. Bob Marley

news Daz Dillinger Flaunts His "Lifestyle" - September 22, 2005 By : Rud

As we have been reporting over recent months rap duo Lifestyle, comprising of Snoop Dogg’s younger brother, Bing and, DJ Quik’s cousin, H.I.T. are in the studio recording their debut album, "Lubrication." This is still ongoing however they have just announced that they have recently completed filming their first music video in support of their upcoming radio single, "All I Need," which was produced by the legendary rapper and producer, and Dogg Pound member, Daz Dillinger. Daz says he wants the fans to know,

"They’re my little cousins, so I grew up with them. I like helping them out because I know they’re going to help their cousin, and vice versa."

In addition to having produced the single, Daz also appears in the video which has been directed by Christian Strickland, who has created music videos for artists including Three 6 Mafia, Juvenile, Rosco and Webbie.

The former Death Row Records recording artist went on to say he is heavily involved with the Lifestyle single and its accompanying music video because he very much wants to support the group’s record label, the Houston and Los Angeles based Lethal Entertainment : "I like the way Lifestyle is doing it, they’re on Tommy Bruno and Greedy Greg’s label, Lethal Entertainment, plus they’re independent." Daz states that Lifestyle will make an important contribution to the ever growing 'roster' of West Coast rap artists, giving them an authentic Dillinger-style endorsement, he says, "They’ll add more flame, more weed to the game!"

"It’s a beautiful thing," says Bing. "To actually get to work together with Daz and do positive things." His opposite number, H.I.T. says, "It’s a privilege to work with Daz, a real honor. He adds his trademark sound to our album with the song he produced for us."

As ever dubcnn will be back with more news, audio and video from the project as we get it, until then check the picture of the group and Daz.

news Statement From Wron G (Warren G Album) - September 22, 2005 By : Rud

As many of you will be aware Warren G's album was leaked to the internet yesterday, as the nature of the internet would dictate it has spread like wildfire. Now we are not here to say we can prevent piracy however as an organisation we are asking that any of you who have already downloaded the album support Warren G when the album drops on October 11th. I know many of you who will have the album are hardened fans who just want to hear the album as soon as possible and have every intention of buying it however this is just to try and elimiate the hardcore bootleggers who download with no intention of buying and spread the release to make money themselves.

Warren G's Uncle and management, Wron G, dropped a statement to dubcnn about the matter of "In The Mid-Nite Hour's" early illegal release;

"This is Warren’s uncle Wron G. My people in Germany, the UK and all over Europe are searching for the people who posted Warren’s album before release. We will do everything possible to find these rats. We have had a great relationship with dubcnn.com. Because of technology we can go after these people easily. We intend to be the first to prosecute and unveil these illegal pirates."

"Warren G loves his fans and knows a true fan would not steal from him. We are giving so much from this album to the victims of the Gulf Coast, so these rats are stealing from homeless people. We will find the original pirates and we will work with dubcnn.com and other links/sites to get information on everyone who downloads this record. We will publish names along with addresses of all downloaders. The F.B.I. has been notified and is monitoring the downloading of Warren’s heart-filled and soulful album. We love all of our g-funk fans and Warren has kept it real with all of you. So do not get caught up in this investigation. We are having dubcnn.com to block this download from their site/forums.

Dubcnn.com is respected for keeping hip hop alive and not killing it.

Wron G"

Please respect the artists wishes and the work that has gone into this release and support Warren G when he releases the album "In The Mid-Nite Hour" on October 11th.

news DubCNN Katrina Benefit Concerts - September 21, 2005 By : SGV

As you already know Hurricane Katrina has devastated not only New Orleans, Mobile and Gulfport, it has devastated our great nation! We at DubCNN.com, AD² Inc., RapTalk Media Group, Ignite Films, iamonfiya Productions, World Promotions, Mac Billion Records, Eventworks and the Blue Relief Fund have banded together to assist in the relief effort with a series of concerts taking place nationwide.

These events will raise funds for: housing, food, water, rebuilding the cities in need and most important jobs and stability. We urge you to please support our benefit concerts we are setting up venues all around the country. This will help to generate capital that can be distributed directly to the victims. We are presently working with several non-profit organizations such as: The Blue Relief Fund, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Urban League, PAL and many churches across the nation.

We will throw benefit concerts in different cities and distribute resources to the appropriate non-profit per city (all non-profits are thoroughly screened before selected). Our plan is a simple one all we need is support from any non-profit that is willing to help.
We will allow the non-profit to receive their proceeds directly after the event. A representative from the non-profit will be present when the event is over and they will receive their proceeds directly from the venue. This will insure that the non-profit organizations get the funding immediately so it can be disbursed properly.

We will basically charge a ticket fee for each concert, 70% will be donated to the victims and 30% will be used to compensate the organizations involved that are not non-profit. We have to pay all of their workers who work with us on these benefits per city. We will also collect other resources such as food and water etc. I hope that you see the vision here, people are in great need! This is a tragedy that can get worse if we don’t address it immediately. Please contact us if you'd like to donate ASAP.

news B-Legit - Block Movement [Info + Audio] - September 21, 2005 By : Nima

A cornerstone in the Bay Area rap movement for over two decades, B-Legit is set to release his sixth album, "Block Movement", upon securing a distribution deal with SMC Recordings and Universal Music Group subsidiary Fontana. The move marks a three year absence for the gravel voiced emcee, a hiatus void of any albums, but conversely filled with community involvement, promo tours and the culmination of a media conglomerate. Independent of Sick-Wid-It Records, where B presides as COO, Block Movement Media Corporation, is shaping up as a full fledged entertainment company – DVD’s, clothing and an eventual magazine – all a part of future plans.

Sic-Wid-It is ‘records’ and ‘media’ covers the whole nine,” B reasons. “I wanted to have something that was going to identify [me] solo, so it was time to expand the wings a little bit.

As a key member of the group The Click, spearheaded by himself and E-40, B’s cousin and reigning “Ambassador of the Bay,” Legit contributed mightily to three culture defining albums in Down And Dirty, Game Related and Money & Muscle, all the while dropping his own heat, a catalogue that includes: Tryin’ To Get a Buck, The Hemp Museum, and Hempin’ Ain’t Easy.

A departure from his signature sound, B enlisted the talents of a good variety of producers across the country when piecing together Block Movement. From the sonic movement down South to old school mob music, more recent trends and even mainstream thump, “The Savage” promises to deliver a well rounded project that he likes to call “Feel Good Music.”

It’s just music that you can feel,” Legit says. “It’s music with soulful hooks. Anybody that has a background from the South or the church, you can just feel those certain hymns and certain notes: the soul. [At the same time,] it’s whatever it is that makes you feel good. You get you a nice pair of shoes and a nice clean truck, drive off and listen to some feel good music.

The Rick Rock produced “Guess Who’s Back,” featuring E-40, is currently setting B’s new standard, already earning a worthy amount of spins on the Bay Area radio stations. “That’s just to warm up my area to let them know I’m comin’ back,” he offers. “This is where the maturity and my support comes from: home.” Mall (St. Louis) and Gold Fingers (Dallas), do their part on the production side as well, delivering respective bangers in their own right. “What they do is bring that Midwest, down South sound over the Bay Area lyrics,” B explains. “It’s a beautiful combination.” Bay area producers, including LJ (“Friends” and “Wanna Know Your Name”), Ponte (“Kick It Tonight” and “I Can’t Change”) and Bedrock, also contribute, helping create B Legit’s most versatile album to date.

Hindered by Internet thieves, bootleggers and a failed deal with Koch, since his last album, Hard 2 B Legit, B is grateful to have found a team that is willing to support and protect his latest offering. “I was tryna find the right situation for me to land in,” he says. “I already had experience putting out records. I just needed some distribution and somebody that was willing to give me a push and I found that with [SMC], and going with the Fontana Distribution Network. All the Hip Hop stuff was there. It was just about finding me a home.

Here are two preview tracks for ya'll to check out, to get a taste of B-la's new stuff:

B-Legit - Guess Who's Back (ft. E-40)

B-Legit - Block 4 Life (ft. Jadakiss & Styles P)

Block Movement is slated for release on Sept. 27th 2005.

news Introducing : The Doty Boys - September 21, 2005 By : Rud

The Doty Boys (pronounced doe tee) consist of Melloe Won and Moe Moe a duo who have, in the past, worked seperately with various crews. As high school friends it was only a matter of time before they opted to join forces to create a new group, The Doty Boys. After rocking crowds in their hometown of Hawthorne, CA the two L.A. natives took their musical talents nationwide on a variety of car show tours such as Hot Import Nights, Import Revolution and Import Showoff. These shows gave Melloe Won and Moe Moe the opportunity to become seasoned performers and create a huge following on the import car scene.

Now the two performers are embarking on conquering the world with their new and refreshing music and it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the world outside the import scene acknowledge that these young men are destined for great things. As ever dubcnn has audio for you to preview, please drop feedback over at the world famous WCC Forums. If you like what you hear then you can order the CD which was released on Masterminds Entertainment, from CD Baby, where you can also hear more audio.

news New Max Minelli & Paul Wall - September 20, 2005 By : SGV

We're still in the South for a moment! Outta Baton Rouge, Louisiana is Max Minelli. Some of you may have heard the names, other may not have. He's dropped a string of albums and mixtapes and he's works with the South Coast Coalition. He just finished his own installment of the Southern Smoke Mixtape series with DJ Smallz. You may have heard him on Southern Smoke 21, also.

But today, we got a new song from Max and Houston's own Paul Wall. Paul just recently dropped his album The Peoples Champ on Swisha House/Asylum. It's a double album, disc 2 is the Michael "5000" Watts Screwed and Chopped version. As for the track with Max though!

Though it is a very much a Southern track, you'll hear a very a distinct sample when the beat breaks down that I know the West Coast will love! This is your Parkin' Lot Pimpin' anthem of the year! Peep out "Find Me A Freak":

Max Minelli feat. Paul Wall - Find Me A Freak

Enjoy!

news Magno Ya Heard!!! (New Audio) - September 20, 2005 By : SGV

"My Mind Is A Prism, Filled With The Wisdom Of Old Folk!" - Magno

You know who the real source for your exclusive West Coast news and audio is... DubCNN! But, today, I'm takin' ya'll to Houston again. The "Rookie Of The Year" Magno aka Magnificent has blessed us with two new tracks in anticipation of his solo record, "Rookie Of The Year."

The "05 Mork N Mindy" Magno and Surreal team up over a Diplomats beat and wreck shop! Surreal comes off as a very above average female emcee. Not many females spit with her hunger and personality. And, as you could expect, Magno drops many clever punchlines and braggadocio rhymes. Magno let's it be known:

"The Only Artist That Can Sell Folk A Heart Attack"

Peep the song:

Magno & Surreal - Freestyle

"Sometimes, I Can Lose Faith, But That Changes When I Listen To These Dudes Tapes, Time To Give This Thang A New Face, I'm A Breath Of Fresh Air, I'm The Game's Toothpaste"

Magno is not playing! He's breaking the stereotype that Southern emcee's can't spit. He's got punchlines for days and great wordplay... But check it for yourself on this song "Nawf 2 Da Souf":

Magno - Nawf 2 Da Souf

All you NY Mixtape fiends... look out for Magno on the new DJ Clue mixtape titled, "Fidel Cashflow." Also, be on the look out for the "Sittin' Crooked In My Slab Vol. 2" And, request the Chops produced first single "Magnificent Bout His Cash" at your local radio station.

news Warren G - "In The Mid-Nite Hour" News - September 17, 2005 By : Rud

As we have been reporting over the past 8 weeks, Warren G is scheduled to release his fifth studio CD, "In The Mid-Nite Hour," on October 11, 2005. The album, his first solo release in five years, has the single "Get U Down," featuring B Real and Watts-based soul singers Side Effect which is currently blazing radio including Power 106 and The Beat. According to Warren G the album is a portrayal of Warren G’s musical take of what happens as the clock ticks past the big one-two: "A lot of things go on in the midnight hour, but I stayed up in the midnight hour making this record. I touch on everything and it's bundled in one big ball of funk."

With a 2005 edge to his trademark smoothed-out sound, the G child stays on the same course that led him to gold and platinum CD success, those classic hits "Regulate," "This DJ" and "I Want It All."

Along with Warren on "In The Mid-Nite Hour," are other guest collaborators including Raphael Saadiq, young rising star, Aftermath’s Bishop Lamont, G Funk Productions’ Frank Lee White (the latter two intro-ed to Warren by half-brother Dr. Dre), G Funk Productions’ Chuck Taylor, and Chevy Jones. Chop and screw rap expert Mike Jones gets down with Warren and watches his back on "In Case Some Sh$# Go Down, the album’s second single.

The aforementioned single, "Get U Down," tackles a myriad of issues, from black-onbrown violence in Los Angeles to our military entanglements in the Middle East, and a special version, "Get U Down Part 2" featuring a special dedication to Hurricane Katrina
victims as well as guest spots by Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube, reminding people to stay strong and positive. Details are currently being worked out so that proceeds from various downloads of "Part 2" will go to the Red Cross to help Katrina aid relief efforts: "A lot of people aren’t really touching on what’s going on and they gotta wake up, even though we go through hard times you still have to smile, know that God is gonna work it out. That’s for the victims of Katrina and everybody around the world that’s going through stressful times."

Kevin Hunter will direct the "Get U Down Part 2" video which will be shot next week in different Cali locales with Warren G, B Real, Snoop and Cube. Paul Hunter will then shoot, "In Case Some Sh$# Go Down" shortly after that.

The album is set to feature tracks by Crooked I featuring Truth Hurts, Sly Boogy, Lady of Rage, RBX, Bo Roc (of The Dove Shack), Eastwood and TriStar along with some up and coming west coast artists.

Although the "Armageddon" album won't be out until early next year there will be a precursor called "Armageddon: The Prequal." It is set to feature some of the artists from the "Armageddon" album doing original tracks in mixtape fashion as a teaser for the album when it drops. In the mean time G-Flow has done a remix of The Game's hit record "Dreams," which is available for download below.

The release will be coming out on Relic Entertainment which is based in Lakewood, California. Relic Entertainment has been working with artists for the last 7 years and has grown tired of what is being offered on the west coast underground hip hop scene, Relic Entertainment has decided to jump in and show the rest of the country what the west has to offer! news New: Coolwadda & Coyote - Quevo Mami - September 16, 2005 By : SGV

"If You Black Or Brown You Show Pride" - Kam

In this day and age, there's an insane amount of categories and sub-categories established in Hip Hop. West Coast, East Coast, Horrocore, Chicano Rap, Emo, Nerd etc. It goes on and on for days. But, to me, it's all Hip Hop. With that said, Los Angeles native Coolwadda of Chico & Coolwadda, teams up with Coyote, on this bilingual track that is sure to get the ladies shakin' their asses.

Coolwadda drops his verses in Spanglish (English and Spanish), with Coyote keeping his verse and hook completely in Spanish. Don't be afraid to try something new, it can't hurt you!

Check it out:

news Introducing: Emcee-T(Audio) - September 14, 2005 By : SGV

YAY Areas RAWEST Asian Hip-Hop MC... Emcee T is steppin' up as the first note-worthy emcee to make a mark in the Bay Area rap game." Born in East Oakland, schooled in Santa Rosa, and currently putting it down in San Jose, Emcee T has been writing since 1995. His debut mixtape CD has the sole purpose of promoting not only himself, but his entourage of Bay Area talent - everything from his Filipino homeboys, Thugg Baby Ent. from Daly City to his little homie KO aka YellowFever, a Taiwanese producer/rapper who raps completely in Mandarin.

T understands that the Bay is all about the “Hyphy” Movement but as his intro states, "The New Bay Frontline real hyphy, gets respect... sorry that ain't T." With his debut mixtape CD carves up a unique array of tracks with diverse sounds from Hip-Hop to House starring artists from the West to East coast. As T states in the introduction to Hard Headed the Mixtape, "I got a little of something for everyone on this one."

T's love for Hip-Hop started in the early to mid 90's - taking a particular ear to Bay Area rappers such as Too $hort, RBL Posse / N.O.H. Mafia, 11-5, 4-Tay, Mac Dre, Cellski, and Spice 1. It wasn't until he moved to Santa Rosa in 1995, when he was introduced to the art of freestyle, which in turn pushed T to start writing. "I ran into Ray Luv's cousin at a house party in Santa Rosa. I caught him in a freestyle session rappin' over Dre Dog's ‘Some Dope and Some Rap’... the flow had me staggered, shit had me amazed and from that, I caught the bug."

Fast forward to 2005 - Vishus Entertainment, an East Coast label signed Emcee T. With hot acts Young Bling & 6-Five, and the backing from Vishus, T has finally decided to release his first mixtape CD, Hard Headed the Mixtape. You can be sure T has a lot to get off his chest.

Here is some audio:

Hard Headed” is a laid back, jazzy track, which is more Hiero than Hyphy.

Emcee-T - Hard Headed

Close 2 The Edge” finds T and Taiwanese emcee KO busting over a dark track, contrasting T's English with KO's Mandarin raps.

news Black Collar Ent (Tons Of Audio & Info) - September 12, 2005 By : SGV

Sinatra is a 20-year-old talented, flamboyant, intelligent emcee that is fusing the sounds of classic hip-hop with a new sound that will set trends and raise bars for years to come. Sinatra was first introduced to this art-form by his older brother 88 Fingaz whom is a well known producer/emcee/singer. His first official recording turned out to be his first single entitled “Ghetto Fantasy”; backed with an impressive production by none other than 88 Fingaz. Sinatra blesses the mellow, thought provoking track with his flashy delivery and clever word play. Sinatra is of Nova Scotian decent and is proud of it, as you will hear him boast about it in some of his music to show listeners that represents his background to the fullest.

Sinotra Music:

Sinotra - Report (Produced by 88 Fingaz)

Sinotra - Ghetto Fantasy (Produced by 88 Fingaz) | Sinotra - Ghetto Fantasy (Produced by 88 Fingaz) Radio Edit

Rubix a.k.a Private Ryan formally of the group Die-Verse is a highly talented emcee and producer that has flashy delivery and that is extremely lyrical. Rubix has been breathing on this earth for 21 years but has been rapping since the young age of seven. He did not become a professional emcee and producer until Oct. 2003 when he made an explosive debut as one-half of an urban hip-hop and R&B group (die-verse) that has since parted ways. He began producing at the age of 18 just to pass the time, but started taking it seriously the same time when he began to emcee professionally. You won’t hear Rubix rapping the same way as anyone else, he makes sure that he always comes on the next level with is material so that everyone else has to figure out a way to catch up to him. “Tha Gutters Glory” is the title of Rubix’ first solo album, the tentative release date is the first quarter of 2005. This album will be very innovative, trend setting and will for sure give the fans more than enough entertainment. Rubix has caught the eye of a few labels, is being watched very closely, and will be doing things on a major level very soon rather than just being on the independent circuit along side everyone else just making a small rumble.

Rubix Music:

Rubix ft. Barry Bee - Up Close N' Personal

88 Fingaz a 25-year old highly skilled producer/emcee/singer has been the man responsible for productions that accompanied many of the hit tracks that one may have herd on urban radio stations and compilations across North America and in Europe. His incredible talents still have yet to be fully unleashed upon the music industry. The name 88 Fingaz derives from his early days in the church playing and mastering the piano by ear. With success received for his productions around the globe, he felt it was time to bestow his entire talents upon the world, by show casing his emceeing and singing skills. His first single entitled “Somethin’ from Nothin’” is performed by him (rapping and singing the chorus) as well as himself handling the production of the track. The song is reminiscent of the classic era of good music mixed with the new age sound displaying an entertaining and impressive harmony of generations of hip-hop into one song.

Jaki-Li a.k.a Adios is giving birth to a new breed of emcee. Her ability to create rhymes with both clever lyrics and catchy hooks puts her in a league of her own. Jaki-Li is also known as ‘Adios’, because she is saying goodbye to the typical image of the female rapper. Her third Alias ‘Lady Finesse’, describes the silky smooth flow that won her accolades from crowds that heard her perform in the early stages of her career. There is an album currently in the works and there are plans to release it in the third quarter 2005. This is just the beginning for this extraordinary emcee, there is nothing that will stop Jaki-Li from rising to the top and displaying why she is destined to be one of the most successful emcees in the game. She is indeed a new breed.

news New Diamonique - Taboo Remix Prod. Fingazz - September 8, 2005 By : SGV

Ya'll know how the The Queen of the West, Diamonique, does it. Whether it's rapping or singing, Diamo holds it down, everytime. Coming out of the bubbling Inland Empire (I.E.) area, she's worked with Xzibit, DJ Quik, Sly Boogy, Dirty Birdy, Kurupt and many others.

Her debut album "Diamond In The Ruff" created a nice buzz, she kept it going with the release of her Mixtape, "Still Shinin'," in the Spring. She's preparing for the release of her Sophmore effort, "Queen Of The West."

On this single, Diamo blends her singing and rapping abilities over melodic strings provided by the E's hottest Producer, Fingazz. She raps:

"I Used To Be A Playa, I Used To Crush A Lot, Now I'm Cryin' Over You, Somethin' I Never Thought"

Anyone who's been in a relationship will be able to relate to this track. Look for it to hit the airwaves very soon. But, for you DJ's out there, we're putting up the clean version of this track. So, download it and bang it on the station!!

Here's the track:

news DJ Chuck T Drops Mixtape For Katrina Victims - September 8, 2005 By : SGV

Charleston, SC: The Carolina King, DJ Chuck T of Charleston, SC joins the likes of P.Diddy, Jay-Z, Usher, Fat Joe, Kanye West, James Prince, and countless others in the hip-hop community who are donating money from their personal income to help victims of the hurricane.

New Orleans is considered the “Mecca” of southern rap music and has given birth to multi-platinum selling artists Juvenile, Master P, Lil’ Wayne, Mystical, and Young City. New Orleans is also the area that sustained the most damage from the Hurricane Katrina leaving hundreds dead and thousands homeless. Founded by New Orleans’ own hip-hop mogul, and visionary Master P. (Percy Miller) and his wife Sonya Miller, Team Rescue One is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to aiding families who suffered from Hurricane Katrina. Team Rescue One has teamed up with The American Red Cross, local government officials, rescue organizations and other relief funds to provide emergency housing grants for damaged communities and the needy.

In conjunction with his graphics company, Bulletproof Graphics, DJ Chuck T will release a mix cd, entitled “The Gulf Coast All-Stars,” which will feature new and exclusive music from rap stars David Banner, Juvenile, Lil’ Wayne, Max Minelli, B.G., Dirty, Webbie, Young City and many other artists from states affected by Hurricane Katrina. 85% of the proceeds will be donated to New Orleans hip-hop mogul Master P’s Team Rescue One organization.

Legal restrictions prevent mix tape DJs from actually “selling” mix CDs so DJ Chuck T will actually be donating profits made from handling fees and mark ups on his shipping and packaging costs. “I wanted to make sure the proceeds went to an organization that was going to use the funds properly and help out the public immediately. Knowing that Master P is from New Orleans helped me make the final decision. I know he wouldn’t leave his own people out in the cold or misuse the funds,” stated DJ Chuck T.

A Charleston native, DJ Chuck T is CEO of Port City Productions. Known for bringing national recognition to local talent in the Carolinas, Chuck T has been featured in The Source and Ozone magazines, MTV’s “Mix Tape Mondays” and recently received 12 SEA (Southern Entertainment Awards) nominations. Seeing himself as more than an aspiring hip hop mogul, Chuck T actively gives to the Edward L. Polite Scholarship fund and donates his time to various charities in Charleston, SC and Charlotte, NC.

Dubcnn note: I also wanna a shout out to Compton's own Young Hootie who went out with his Larceny Ent. team to New Orleans for a Benefit show this past weekend. I was out of the country and didn't get the info until after the fact, but I want to big him up. Our families and friends are out there suffering and are in need of donations. Most people have been wiped out and have nothing left. DubCNN is asking for people to donate to any relief fund, no matter how small the amount. It's the thought the counts! Big ups to everyone helping out and I wish everyone who was victim of this disaster well.

news Introducing: Cinatra (Audio) - September 8, 2005 By : SGV

When you think of Frank Sinatra, you think New York, New York. You may think the 1940’s, and you might think the Rat Pack. Hip-Hop certainly doesn’t come to mind. However, when deliberating on over what his moniker could be, Curtis Weeks opted for Cinatra, after Ole Blue Eyes.

The reason for this came as he studied a show on Frank and it was apparent that he had the best of both worlds. Frank Sinatra was able to rub shoulders with the Crème de la crème of Hollywood, yet dive into the depths of the underworld and be a key figure amongst mobsters and gangsters, yet not be considered out of place. Cinatra personally identified with this. Having spent five years in the military, he was exposed to a totally opposite way of life from which he was accustomed. He admits to coming from the bottom but having the exposure of the military made his journey down life’s path similar to that of his namesake. It was during his tenure in the Air force that he discovered his talent for lyrical wordplay and opted to follow that course.

Versatile is a word that Cinatra can identify with, however this isn’t what makes his character unique. What makes him stand out from all the other emerging talent, is his integrity and his appreciation for the art form. He is dead set on which path he is going to take to be recognized as an exceptional lyricist. He has been inspired by some of the greatest names in soul music such as Marvin Gaye, The Commodores, and Teddy Pendergrass along with some of the most influential artists in rap and hip-hop, KRS One, LL Cool J, Nas, and Jay-Z. Cinatra has studied both the music and the business and is ready to fill that vacant seat that so many artist strive for.

A Trenton, NJ native, Cinatra wants to cash in on the lack of serious emcees representing his home state. “I want to put the East Coast back on the map. New Jersey has never had its own voice; it has always been smothered between NY and Philly.” The Voice of NJ has not appeared on ridiculous amounts of mixtapes, nor has he rocked more stages than the Rolling Stones like some artists have, but this doesn’t equate a negative image of readiness. Cinatra has been attentively mastering his art, which is a rarity within the walls of the Hip-Hop genre nowadays. He wants to promote reliability and showmanship; he wants to be an artist, not another entrepreneur; he wants to be a name that is respected for marrying beats with words.

So with a competent team behind him and his own proficiency, Cinatra knows he can reach higher heights. There is nothing in today’s game that he can’t play for, nothing he can’t win. Everything is there for the taking and there is nothing to lose!!!!

Cinatra - Dear Summer Freestyle

I don't usually do these big audio drops, but I got a lot of tracks for your ears to enjoy.

First we have a track from up and coming emcee A.O. featuring Magnificent aka Magno. "Fool" is from A.O.'s Lunch Time The Mixtape album, dropping in Octorber:

A.O. feat. Magno - Fool

To keep it in the vein of Magno, here's a new track from the man. He dedicated this track to that lean up in ya cup, "Promythezine":

Magno - Promythezine

Let's go from Houston up north to Chicago (with a little bit of Atlanta mixed in.) Roc-A-Fella's Teairra Mari gets a visit from the hottest emcee in Atlanta Al Gator for the "Make Her Feel Good Remix":

Teairra Mari feat. Al Gator - Make Her Feel Good Remix

Back at home, FX is back with some new audio. Before I drop the audio, FX had this to say: "Cop the 'DUES' Mixtape for $5. get the 'CHAPTER 2' Mixtape Sampler free, also. Cost is $5. 100% of the profits will go straight to the people who need it most. This is no bullshit move to make quick money. I literaly don't have $1 in my pocket and nothing to offer other than my music. It's only $5. It's small but at this time every cent counts. Get 20 good tracks of music for $5!

I'm trying to hit up radio stations, bigger sites, bigger artists. ANYONE READING THIS CAN HELP. Anything to spread the word.. word of mouth! Not one penny goes to me, I want to stress that. Everything goes to a cause! If you would like to help by submitting tracks for the next Mixtape, you can contact me at rotproductions@gmail.com. Everything is used to benefit.

MAKE SURE TO HELP!
"

Tracks can be heard at his Myspace and orderd there also. Check 405Ent.com as it will be up this week with info also.

Here is FX with vocals from Stat Quo and Slim Thug of the "Rep Yo City" beat, calling it "In The Trunk":

FX feat. Stat Quo & Slim Thug - In The Trunk

Across the Country in Miami... The Diaz Bros., who brought you Pitbull, now bring you Dirtered. Over an Indian-styled Scott Storch beat, Dirt boasts about his gangsta on "I'm A Gangsta":

Dirtered - I'm A Gangsta (Prod. Scott Storch)

Meanwhile, in L.A. Producer Javie Lopez is about to hit the streets heavy with his up coming Compilation. Just in case you missed it, here's some new tracks.

This song has had some Radio play. It's the lead track from the Compilation entitled "Execution Movement" and features Blunts L.L.A., Diamonique, Merz, 5th Sun, Spants of City Boys and Sleep Dos:

news Ice Cube & Too Short Get "Crunked" - September 6, 2005 By : Rud

In 2003 Ice Cube told the world he was teaming up with Dr. Dre on Aftermath Records to record a "comeback LP," unfortunately that never happened. MTV has reported that Cube has enlisted the aid of Lil Jon for production on his upcoming album. Lil Jon tells MTV that he's recorded seven new tracks with "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted" and is helping him find a label for the release : "On the Crunk Juice album, we did 'Real N---a Roll Call' [with Cube], I grew up on N.W.A — N.W.A and Too Short were my favorite groups. So to just be in the studio, and for him to listen to me and let me guide him, ask me what I think ... I still can't believe I'm cool with Cube like that, 'cause that's Ice Cube."

Lil Jon went on to say that the new Cube sounds a lot like vintage, early '90s Cube, from the AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted/ Death Certificate era. He also stated that he and Cube already have a song they want to release to the public soon : "We got the first single, it's Ice Cube and Snoop, called 'Got a Lot of That,' as soon as you hear the beat, you gonna start dancing. And he's got this song called 'Combat' for anybody who does any type of sports — like if you play football, it's gonna get you amped up to get in the game. We're looking for a label — holla at us. We're going to probably put a record out and let the labels come to us."

In other Lil Jon and westcoast news he has been in the lab with Too Short working on his new LP, : "Short is like 'Uncle Short, Short was the first person in the rap game to believe in me and give me a chance as an artist. I was signed to Short's label and he let me out of the contract with no problems — he let me do my thing. Plus, he was always there for me whenever I needed him to get on some records."

Too Short's as yet untitled new LP is set to have Jazze Pha producing half of the tracks and Jon doing most of the rest. As usual dubcnn will be back with more news and audio as we have it. And labels...i dont need to tell you...get Cube signed and lets get this record out.

news ODB's manager signs Bizzy Bone! - September 1, 2005 By : Yash

Heads are talking about the signing of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony (BTNH) member Bizzy Bone to 845 Entertainment, the newly formed company formed by Old Dirty Bastard's manager, Jarred Weisfeld and finance whiz Greg Miller.
Bizzy's solo set, due September 27th is causing much anticipation among Bone fans. And for good reason.

According to Weisfeld, however, the signing is for several reasons. First reason - business. In light of his huge popularity, Bizzy was an obvious choice. After his last solo effort, 2004's Alpha And Omega, and Bone Brothers, his 2005 collabo with fellow BTNH member Layzie Bone, fans were left wanting more.

"I wanted a second chance at hip-hop after what Cherry and I accomplished with Dirty,"
he said emotionally. "I just wanted a second chance to try and do that with hopefully a better ending. [Bizzy and Dirty] had extraordinary personalities and Dirty was like my brother and I just want to take somebody that was very similar to Dirty, Bizzie Bone, and try and see it through this time."

The decision to even start the company was a personal milestone for the man who sided with Cherry against ODB's widow, whom he labeled as "greedy."

Bizzy Bone's new album “Speaking in Tongues”, drops Sept. 27th.

Dubcnn has a brand new song with Bizzy called "Hold Me Down" and snippets of some other songs from his upcoming album which is off the richter scale!

Click Here to listen to the album snippets!

We will conduct an indepth interview with Bizzy Bone on Wednesday so make sure ya'll contact us if you have any questions for Bizzy Bone.
