Which of those undground rappaz have huge future
« on: March 07, 2002, 05:50:22 PM »
.... and which will never be popular again?

Kam
C-Bo
Brotha Lynch
Tech9ne
Cellski
Andre Nickatina
Spice 1
MC Eiht
Luni Coleone
Triple Beam
Soopafly
Daz Dillinger
Rappin 4 Tay
Dru Down
B-Legit

I think that Kam, Spice 1, MC eiht will never do more than they did in the 90s, and people like Soopafly, c-bo & Brotha Lynch still have a bright future. People like Daz and 4 Tay will never come outta depths of underground, they'll be completely forgotten soon.

WHAT DO YALL THINK?

I be one of those tall skinny cats with the four-nine
Three-eleven that rips through Power-U's and breaks spines
I culture power-tuggin' boys who be drunk, buggin'
Lovin' loud noise from toys, club thuggin'
Sweet chocolate deluxe, rugged, sexy buttercup
That don't give a fuck about the cop in the club
RZA in DO U

I don't think Daz well be forgotten soon... Soopafly, MC Eiht and Kam are tight. The main problem of the west coast is that almost no "new" rapper goes mainstream. But I don't care. The music is more "gangster" when they are in the underground...

The only people who may increase in popularity is Soopafly... I find it very unlikely that anyone else on that list will ever come out of the underground.

kam...hes been too underrated...he has some of the most diligent rap records ever...he will never blow up though...to bad...
techn9ne....he has potential but his content wouldnt float with the commercial audience...
well actually all the people u listed will never be huge stars...its all about their content...i love gangster music and im sure..no actually i know....millions of other love it too...but it will never get as popular as it was in the 90s...sure theres tons of rappers on a commercial level rapping about street life(shyne, mobb deep, beanie sigel, jadakiss) but theyre all east coast and have major deals....the west coast is always at a disatvantage...were independently based....90% of west coast artists are on indi labels...when 95% of east coast rappers are on major labels and are allowed to make that kind of music...but the west is shunned for it....i know i went way the fuck off topic but i had to vent it off...my bad

For real... I didn't get into Kam until about a year ago when Kamnesia dropped, but Kam is right up there in my list of favorite rappers... he drops some of the best shit to ever grace Hip Hop... his album Made In America is one of those albums you can just play and listen... its a classic... but on that list... I think Daz has the best chance... no one else..

We are 9 years later. No we can make up the balance.
I think none of them will get out of the Underground status.
Daz tried (remember so so wack) and failed.
What you think..

I think it's accurate enough to say that none of the rappers mentioned will have a future let alone a huge one. Sure they can continue making music, but to be a successor as a rap artist? Those chances are slimmer than an artist on the grind (without any high levels of buzz).
