Cube plans next album to be more POLITICAL!
« on: March 04, 2002, 05:07:18 PM »
I was watching BET Tonight and Ed Gordon was interviewing Ice Cube. They were talking about his new movie and all that shit. Anyways he asked about what Cube has planned musically. Cube said he is going to make his next album more personal and look inside himself for ideas. He has some ideas "accumalated" already. And at the end he said it's going to be more political than his recent shit. Then that fool Ed Gordon cut his ass off and asked if the 9-11 incident influenced his descision. Then they strayed off to a different topic. Fuckin' Ed Gordon you ol' dumb ass fool. Cube was going to talk more about his album. Hmmm could this end up being another classic under his belt or at least on the level of The Predator and Lethal Injection? I pray to God that it is.

I know I hate that wanna-be Brian Gumbel fool.

I'm glad to hear the news about Cube's album tho. I was listening to Death Certificate and I was missing the old Cube.

Cube did a dope ass interview with Blender Magazine... here are some of the major things he said...

What’s standing in the way of an N.W.A reunion?
Dr. Dre. No, let me say, “Dr. Dre’s time.” He’s producing the album, and unless he says, “Yo, I’m ready, I got music for you,” then it’s no project. It’s just a mess that nobody is ready to dive into, because everybody wants to get paid. It’s gonna cost a fortune for the record. So it might not ever happen.

Why isn’t Chris Tucker in any of the Friday sequels?
He told me he doesn’t use profanity anymore [arches left eyebrow]. He found God, and he doesn’t cuss anymore. To me, that was a bullshit excuse. He’s going on the radio saying he didn’t get paid right the first time. But everybody got scale the first time, including me. I just happened to produce and write the shit. It ain’t my fault that gets me a little more. But he still hasn’t come to me face to face and told me that. He makes $20 million a movie now, because of that little ol’ movie called Friday. How fucking mad can he be?

From “The Nigga You Love to Hate,” we know you don’t like “suckers that went pop.” Are there any Top 40 rappers you respect? Tone-Loc? Puffy? Vanilla Ice? Kid ’N Play?
Tone-Loc — I used to go to his house all the time when we were both trying to come up in the rap game. Puffy’s produced some tracks on my new album. Kid ’N Play started these kind of ’hood movies, in a way — they opened some doors for what I’m doing now. So I respect everybody . . . except Vanilla Ice.

If somebody breaks into your house, Mr. “Fuck tha Police,” would you call the cops?
Yes. Hell, yeah. I’m paying them motherfuckers enough. They work for me, too. They ain’t just there to fuck me up and abuse me. Put they ass to work. Come get ’em. Be in the bushes, hop the fence, all that shit. You do it. You get paid to do it. If you have to get into a shootout, do it. Better you than me.

Gimme Props Later

How old is that interview? I'm sure he's talking about the tracks Puffy produced on The Peace Disc because he said he hasn't even started work on his new album. He just has some ideas.

they should leave NWA alone. They ain't gonna be the same 'niggas with attitudes' anymore, can't scream fuck tha police when they got police around them.

cube dont sound too happy with chris tucker in that quote. maybe there would be a slap fight if they ever met up again face to face. celebrity deathmatch!

1. Puffy has been pretty consistant lately, I haven't heard any wack beats.  His stuff on "Peace" was hot.  Sorry, but it's true.

2.  Ice Cube is a hypocrite.  Everybody knows that Dre, Ren, and Snoop holed up in a studio for a full week after Up In Smoke to work on the NWA album, and Cube no Showed.

Also, Cube said back in the day, dre wouldn't give him a beat for "War".  Later, it comes out that Dre had given him 5 beats, and Cube never used them or called Dre.

Cube says dre's busy, but Cube's shot 4 movies in the past year, released an album, etc.  Cube's as busy as Dre, don't blame it on him, when Cube's just as much of the problem.

During the Up In Smoke Tour, they added 10 more dates to the end of the tour... however Cube couldn't go to any of those because he was shooting a movie.... so he obviously had plans... but who knows... i want NWA

Yeah, I know all about that, but Cube agreed to be with them that week, and never showed.  The whole week.  Ask Mellowman about it.
