Here was Daz, in 1998, at a time when No Limit Records had taken rap game hostage, and the West Coast had fallen into coma that it still hasn't recovered from.  Death Row had lost it's biggest superstars, Dre had denounced gangsta rap and left millions of dollars behind just to get away from the label, Pac had died, Snoop had a nasty legal battle with the label, and everyone from Kurupt to Nate Dogg had found better record deals elsewhere.

So here was Daz, all alone, stranded on Death Row.  Nobody was paying attention to this album except for diehard fans of the label.  And from the ashes of Death Row's crumbling infrastructure, with their label head incarcerated.... Daz drops the illest album of 1998 and in doing so he furthers the Death Row legacy.

There was no significant decrease in quality between this album and past Death Row classics!  Agreed?

"In California" should have blown up, and this album should have been 3x platinum.  The least we can do is give this album some love on an appreciation thread. This was the last great album of the Death Row dynasty.

It is a good effort, In California is a nice track. Haven't listened to it in a while, might have to find it somewhere around my folks' house and rip it on the computer.

A fucking West Coast classic for sure. The album is not dated either, as it sounds great today. One of my all time favorites. 8)

Well said dude. I agree 100%. That album was a becon of light for the westcoast during that time period. It's too bad it was dimmed by all the Death Row propaganda. I still feel that is Daz's best album to this day, and of course, a Death Row classic. Much appreciation...RRGB!

I agree, I recently gave this a listen after being amazed by Dogg Food and this was another reminder of why I loved Tha Dogg Pound so much. I also remember I always wanted to check out the album because of the sick cover, the artwork was sizzzick. My fav track on there is probably OG with nate and snoop, that track is so beyond classic, its worth buying the album just for that track.

That's trully a great album. We have to give Daz his props.(O.G. and Gang Bangin' Ass Criminal are two of the craziest & sickest songs I've EVER heard).

This album was and still is classic to me.  Every track is bangin'  Tight guest spots, tight beats and lyrically top notch.  Nice album
