"Shyne To Legally Change Government Name

Imprisoned MC Shyne is taking a page out of fellow lyricist Rakim's book.

Just as William Griffin Jr. became Rakim Allah due to his strong religious beliefs, Jamaal Michael Barrow, aka Shyne, is legally changing his name to Moses Michael Leviy due to his loyal following of Judaism.

According to the New York Post, the Belize-born lyricist converted to Judaism while serving his jail sentence and even claims to be descended from the Ethiopian Jews.

Shyne is taking out a classified ad in The Post tomorrow (Saturday) to make the name change official.

Shyne is serving the remainder of his 10-year sentence, a bid he received for his involvement in a 1999 shooting at Club NY that left three people wounded. He hopes to be released from the upstate Clinton Correctional Facility next year.

Well I guess anti-semites everywhere will now get to see how powerful the jews in the entertainment business really are. If Shyne comes out of jail and blows up bigger than any rapper before him we may see a spray painted synagogue or two.

I just want to make sure that people don't think I'm implying his conversion to Judaism is a ticket to stardom. I was obviously joking, but re-reading I get the feeling it may come across as a prediction.

Half of this news you are reading wrong.  He hopes to released from THAT facility, but he will still be in prison...  Shyne will not be eligible for parole until August 2009, and at the latest will be released from prison on March 12, 2011.

Well I hope the name change is symbolic of his admittance of his wrong doing, and the desire to want a better more productive life.  Interesting that he chose Judaism as opposed to Islam.

Now that is just what I was thinking. I'm wondering what's been going on in prison that made him convert.

For some reason I had an idea in my mind that Shyne was going to become a Muslim in prison.  Then I saw this thread and I started prematurely declaring myself some kind of great prognosticator, next thing I know I read he's converted to Judaism. 

Well anyway, it will probably help his record sales.  All the major hip-hop labels of the past have had a jew at the top... the Beastie Boys (Jewish) aren't the greatest selling rap group for no reason... Check this out...

Death Row Records had the parent company Interscope:  Jimmy Iovine (Jewish) is at the top of it.
Aftermath/Shady/G-Unit have the same parent company, Interscope:  Jimmy Iovine (Jewish) is at the top of it.
Def Jam, raps first great record label.  Has Lyor Cohen (Jewish) at the top of it.
Bad Boy Records was owned by the parent company Arista Records.  Clive Davis (Jewish) owned Arista.

...the list goes on and on.  That's why Method Man got censored for saying something about Jews on 2pac's All Eyes On Me album, and that's also why Micheal Jackson got his album recalled for trying to say "Jew Me."   If you want to say something about Christians or Muslims on a record then they won't censor it.

Jews own a large portion of the news, entertainment, and banking industries.
