The Junkyard Reveals "A Threat In The World Today" - March 10, 2006 By : Rud

After dedicating some of the last "Junkyard" feature to Ice Cube M Dogg has taken the time to write Volume Three Point Five solely focusing on the Hip-Hop vet and his upcoming album; "Laugh Now, Cry Later." He gives his thoughts on what he has heard of the album thus far and gives his reasoning why the album could be the most important Hip-Hop release of the year.

As ever its no holding back for M Dogg, his cutting edge angle is sure to provoke thought and discussion over at the dubcnn community.

For those fans of the last issue "Random Thoughts" he has even included a handful of those at the foot of this edition. Once you have read the piece head over to the dubcnn community to debate any issues you may have.

The Junkyard - Volume Three Point Five: Threat In The World

Once again look for more features from "The Junkyard" Bi-Weekly. Check the Junkyard Index to read his previous editions including the acclaimed Volume Two; "Sales Numbers" and his "Random Thoughts" issue.

"Ice Cube could possess the most important album of the year in terms of overall effect on the west. In 1999, it was not "2001" that was the most important, it was Snoop Dogg's "Top Dogg", as it was the precursor to "2001". This is the year of Ice Cube, no matter what happens."

I agree with that, this should be the record of 2006.

once again, good read.

I was at the industry release last Tuesday and though it was tough to really judge every portion of the record;  it did sound like Cube had his passion on this record.  The beats were definately there.

The Junkyard reflected many opinions  I have felt for years.  In the few words I spoke to Cube I told him that Death Certificate was my personal favorite record ever and that his new shit sounded like he was taking it back.  I think this record has it what it takes tomake noise.  I know we will enjoy it.  But I won't be surprised if it goes slept on like the war disc.
