Ice Cube/DPG/Clipse Concert Review at House Of Blues
« on: April 22, 2006, 11:15:56 AM »
First off, this concert was fuckin amazing, the best I've ever been to definitely.

So, things started off with The Clipse.  They played "When The Last Time," "What Happened To That Boy," "Cot Damn" and some other new tracks.  They have a new single thats dropping with Pharrell, and they said they finally started their own record label (Re-Up, I think) and the album will drop in August.

Daz and Kurupt came out next, and Fred Wreck was DJing for them.  They did a couple opening tracks, and they did "What Would You Do."  Daz passed out a blunt to some guy in the front row, and the security guard made him put it out.  Kurupt started to do "New York, New York," and guess who came out to do the chorus... Snoop.  The crowd went wild, and it was unbelievable.  Next they did "Real Soon," and Nate Dizzle came out for that shit too.  It was crazy.  The whole gang did some more tracks after that, including that new "Cali Iz Active" track.  Then, for the finale, they brought out Warren G and they all performed "Ain't No Fun."  I can't even express how hyped up I was after this.  On a side note, I saw MC Eiht and Roscoe, and a grip of others I didn't recognize, on stage off to the side.

After two great acts, Cube finally took the stage with WC, and Crazy Toons DJed for them.  The performance was ridiculous.  Cube covered all of his classics, and he did new shit like "Why We Thugs," "Chrome And Paint," "You Got A Lotta That," and some track called "Click Clack" i think.  Cube and WC did this whole routine where they pretended to be pissed off at each other, and then Cube left the stage.  WC encouraged the crowd to say "Fuck you, Ice Cube" and flip him off when he came back on and did "The Nigga Ya Love To Hate."  They also did Westside Connection shit like "Bow Down," "Gangstas Make The World Go Round," "Gangsta Nation," and WC did "The Streets."

All in all, it was an amazing concert, and I was in the front row the whole time, so it made it that much tighter.

I have a few really shitty pictures on my phone too, if you guys really want it I'll up em.

Tight review on the show..any word on how San Diego went? I think the good reviews on the tour are making up for the mixed reviews on the Cube album. Seems like one thing people CAN agree on is that DPG tore it up each time..Dudes never lost it

Yeah...you So-Cal people are the luckiest dudes on the planet when it comes to having dope West Coast Hip-Hop concerts. Out here in Europe (and the rest of the world actually) we can only dream of attending a concert with such a line-up.
