Does MTV still show music videos??

I don't watch MTV too much, but it seems like every single time I turn to it, they are never showing any music videos. I happen to catch TRL every once in a while, but usually, they are just showin "Yo mama" "Room raiders" "Date my mom" or somethin like that. How many hours a day do they show music videos now?

I read that they are  formatting MTV targeting girls, and MTV2 for guys.  MTV is fucking horrible - can't even remember the last time i've watched it.  And they should change it to PTV like NIK said.  Shit's horrible.

Ive noticed over the past month that VH1 is starting to get back into the music, not like they used to be but i see music a little more on vh1.  But with the way the music industry is now, do you really want to see music videos anymore.  Its all trash.

Well most of their programs are cool imo so I don't mind.I mean, it's not like we're missing anything, the music they play sucks anyways.

I don't really have a problem with the shows they show, but I was just wonderin when I was watching the other day.

One reason I assume they don't show videos as much is because viewers can watch whatever music videos they want to on the internet, so the net probably changed the whole game up. They probably get lower ratings on the shows that show just videos, and I am sure that the other shows generate more talk and revenue for them.

One thing I can give props to them for is that they ALWAYS play west coast songs in the backgrounds of their shows...I've heard several songs on there that I rarely heard outside of L.A., such as #2 off Bad Azz Personal Business and "How we get down", Sly Boogy "That's my name", and some other tracks.

I've noticed that too. But since the only other "music" channel I watch is BET (which does nothing but rides the south's dick)  I thought it was somewhat normal.
