« on: February 11, 2002, 01:39:15 PM »
Which non-Gangsta Rap albums from the West Coast are Classic or Near-Classic? There aren't many recent ones that I can think of.

Classics:
The Pharcyde - Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde
Tha Alkaholiks - 21 & Over
Souls Of Mischief - '93 'Til Infinity

Near-Classic:
Ras Kass - Soul On Ice

I don't know if alot of people would consider it a classic, but Skee-Lo - I Wish. Come on, everybody loved that mothafucka back in the day.

I liked the song but was the whole album good? I remember hearing a song that sampled El Debarge which was pretty good. Skee-Lo is funny as hell. His new song "At The Mall" is disgustingly wack though but at least he trying to do a new subject haha!

Word! Those two albums were getting major spins when I was young. Domino was kind of "Gangsta" though. I can't believe I missed Hammer. That was my favorite album in fourth grade along with Cube and LL. I had the dance steps down!

"No Need For Alarm" the song is Classic. I had the album but I wasn't feeling it much when I bought it because I was addicted to the G-Funk at the time. The CD is so scratched now that I can't play it no more. Del also came tight on "Missin' Link" off the Judgement Night soundtrack. "Dr. Bombay" and "Mr. Bob Dobalina" are Classic too.
