Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California

Then I looked up the lyrics  ;D

Gettin' born in the state of Mississippi
Poppa was a copper and'a momma was a hippie
In Alabama she was swinging hammer
Price you gotta pay when you break the panorama
She never knew that there was anything more than poor
What in the world does your company take me for?

Black bandana, sweet Louisiana
Robbin'on a bank in the state of Indiana
She's a runner, rebel and a stunner
On her merry way saying baby what you gonna
Lookin' down the barrel of a hot metal .45
Just another way to survive

Chorus:

California rest in peace
Simultaneous release
California show your teeth
She's my priestess, I'm your priest
Yeah, yeah

She's a lover, baby and a fighter
Should've seen her coming when it got a little brighter
With a name like Dani California
Day was gonna come when I was gonna mourn ya
A little loaded she was stealing another breath
I love my baby to death

Chorus:

California rest in peace
Simultaneous release
California show your teeth
She's my priestess, I'm your priest
Yeah, yeah

Who knew the other side of you
Who knew what others died to prove
Too true to say goodbye to you
Too true, too sad sad sad

Push the fader, gifted animator
One for the now and eleven for the later
Never made it, Up to Minnessota
North Dakota man was a gunnin' for the quota
Down in the badlands she was saving the best for last
it only hurts when I laugh
Gone too fast

Chorus:

California rest in peace
Simultaneous release
California show your teeth
She's my priestess, I'm your priest
Yeah, yeah

California rest in peace
Simultaneous release
California show your teeth
She's my priestess, I'm your priest
Yeah, yeah

I've been a RHCP fan for years, but Stadium Arcadium disapointed me... it's seems like they're following the same formula trough the whole album. It's not a wack album, but the Chili Peppers are better than that.

True that. A bit too much of the same stuff in one package. It's decent, but not "all that".

I actually liked that for a change. Nothing extremely new or experimental, but the formula they followed is a formula I really enjoy hearing. They tried some different things on their previous album and people were complaining that it was too mature, but I liked it too. You can;t please everybody, but I think it's safe to say that their new album is a solid album.

If you want some new sounds and somehting completely different, then St. Elsewhere is for you.

I may have come off as a little harsh on the RHCP-album, cause I do agree that it's a solid album.... but a step down from By The Way.

But it's true, they're "smoother" on this album, and it seems like the masses are loving it, and on some songs (i.e. the title track and Dani California) it works really well for me, and the sound they've got on those tracks are actually my favourite when it comes to RHCP... but when I buy one of their albums, I want some songs that make me think "what the fuck is this???" before I learn to love them... that may sound kinda strange  :P

Fuck it ima buy both. ;D

they're both worth the money  ;)

i felt that RHCP should have put all their best songs from both disc 1 and disc 2 and put it on one disc. i find their is numerous tracks that i do not enjoy and i find it too be filler
