I personally think the best diss song is "No Vassoline" but "Hit em up" is second.  That fool pac was a west coast rida. Umm everything they drop goes platinum so in actuality they aren't one hit wonders. They got an album coming out and some tracks that I've heard are dope. And Bone seem to be legit thugs. Flesh N Bone is in jail for pulling an AK on his neighbor and Krayzie was shot in the head for fighting back in a robbery similar to 2Pac. Mobb Deep are fake thugs but Bone seem to be legit.

Stillmatic, easily. Stillmatic represents the ESSENCE of what real hip hop is supposed to be about: sharp, meaningful lyricism with raw story-telling ability laced over phat beats. None of the songs on 2001 can match up to conceptual masterpieces like Rewind, One Mic, 2nd Childhood, Poison, or Every Ghetto. And "Ether" is the best diss song in at least 3 years.....

last time I checked, 2001 wasn't conceptual.  I don't think "Housewife", "Fuck you", "Xxplosive", "Forget about Dre", etc. are as creative as some of the songs that Nas did on Stillmatic.  Also, the best song in the past 3 years, which would be since 1998/1999.  Hit em up was 6 years ago, so there's no way he was dissing "Hit em up" with that comment.  

Back to the topic, I do agree that Ether was LYRICALLY better than "Hit em up", but overall, I think "Ether" can't fuck with "Hit em up" cuz of the emotion Pac brought to the track makes the lyrics hit hard.

I never said that Stillmatic was better than 2001.  personally, I'd rather listen to 2001 cuz of the beats, but Nas could rip Dre 15 new assholes lyrically.  Dre doesn't have enough creativity with his lyrics to do a song like "Rewind", he'd have to have someone else write the lyrics for him
