Rumor: Wii Price, Release Date Coming September 14

Nintendo will hold a special "Wii presentation" event in New York September 14, according to CNET's Alpha Blog. The event will be hosted by Reggie Fils-Aime, president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America, and the article speculates that Nintendo will use the event to announce Wii's price and release date.

Nintendo has said that more Wii information would be announced in September, and this event would fulfill that promise. We will have more information as it arrives.

Japan: Nintendo Wii Event 9/14

Coinciding with similarly announced events in North America and Europe, a Nintendo Wii event has been announced for September 14 in Japan. Information regarding Wii launch date and price will almost certainy be announced at all events. That events are occurring near the same time in all major regions also reinforces Nintendo's pursuit of a simultaneous worldwide launch. (ps)
