Nas never sold out?
The Firm? Pink Suits? Collabos with 3LW? Nastradamus?

Nas is the man but he did sell out for a bit.

Jay-Z was currently running shit but it seems Nas has snatched the crown.

Keep in mind that; ones i consider current Kings of Rap are ones who are consistently making hits, staying in the public eye, and somewhat respected by lots. I'm not considering bery much skill, so please no posters say, "FUCK THAT! 2PAC IS STILL THE KING BIITCH! THUG LIFE 4EVA!"

i'd say it's Jay-Z, but he's certainly lost alot of respect with his weak efforts in the Nas battle. Nas has certainly stepped up; (arguably) won the Jay-Z battle, and has gotten alot of props for Stillmatic. I'd say NAS

i think that no one has put anythin groundbreakin out lately.  i mean the blueprint is good, music and me is good, illmatic is good, reutrn of the ......., is good but nothin has changed the face of hip hop.  there is alot of good shit but nothin that blows ur mind.  maybe next year will be different cuz detox might come out and y'all know that dre will change the face of hip hop again.

i wasnt.. who we be is on some nails on the chalkboard type shit...

personally i'd have to say that there is no "king" of rap... there never has been.  its just something created by a very bored media with nothing of substance to write about.  what makes Jay-Z or Nas more of a candidate than Common or Outkast? or Del? certainly neither Jay-z or Nas could come close to them in terms of consistency... no one went around saying "Biggie is the king of New York" until The Source told people he was... it's just something used to stir up excitement in fans about commercially viable artists.
