I don't expect the album to have incredible first week sales, but when Weekend is gonna drop...look for the album to climb the charts. Any info on the video? Will there be one?

I was under the impression that there was already one.

Nima saying this is his best album since R.A.W. is a bold statement. If I'm in a record store anytime soon I'll get it.

I'm not saying this is up there with the classics at ALL, because it isn't. but for todays albums, it's a HOT west coat album to me, because he kept it west coast but it has a uniiversal sound to it.

I'm copping it for sure, I hope he doesn't flop, but I can't see it selling any more than "Cali Iz Active," maybe even less because this doesn't have Snoop on the cover.

It does have a catchier single then cali iz active.
I agree.  I don't understand why "On Some Real Shit" isn't the number one song in the country right now.  That song is so fucking tight, and I've been listening to it for almost 5 months now and its always in rotation, and its still not getting old.  But, for some reason, it ain't catching on, so I don't see why anyone would by this CD other than Dogg Pound fans and hardcore So So Def supporters.

I think for a rap single to REALLY crossover, you need to get the females interested. Take "Ridin' Dirty" as a current example - I know PLENTY of girls (and guys) that love that song right now. For whatever reason, the girls bought into it. Daz's lyrics on "On Some Real..." aren't exactly female-oriented (granted, neither are Chamillionaire's), but, to be honest, any label is going to have a hard time promoting a vet like Daz to the ladies. Having said all that, I also expected it to perform a little better, seeing how big Rick Ross is right now and how JD has a reputation for crafting hits. Peaking at 90 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart is pretty poor. :-\

Maybe "Weekend" will catch on since I'm pretty sure Virgin/So So will allow him a second official single, but if it does then I believe that Johnta Austin's chorus will have been a major selling point.

To the people throwing the word flop around, yall are dumb as shit. Nobody expects this album to sell alot of units=no chance of a flop. If they spent millions of dollars promoting this and he still only sold 40K, then it would be a flop. No promotion=no chance of a flop.

And I dont get how people are already forming opinions on this CD when the web rip has only been out 3-4 days.

Seriously thats why I dislike the internet sometimes.  Everything is classic or trash, nothing inbetween, within 2 days of it leaking on the Internet.

And as far as 'flop' goes...only time a album should be labeled a flop is if its a horrible album music wise.  Why the fuck do any of us care about record sales?
