yeah, fuck this cd.
after been out the game for 3 years he must have plenty to say.
^^^^I feel you on a lot of that. Jay is mad overrated. Black album was alright - it had a couple of classic tracks, but the vast majority of it was mediocre but it had a lot of big names associated with it, and it had the hype that it was his last album so of course people blow it out of proportion. Here's my thing though: At this stage, Jay is gonna push crazy units regardless. He's just at that status level. I wish he'd take it back to his early days rhyming in doubles and triplets. Show rappers that they can be them and not conform to what everybody else is doing. Who's gonna stop him? He's runnin Def Jam, so it's his call.Instead it sounds like he's making The Black Album II. I'm sure there will be dope tracks on there, but Jay has the ability to really do something with this album and it sounds like he's playing it really safe which is pretty weak imo. I mean damn, how many rap albums gotta have production from The Neptunes, Kanye, Timbo, Em, Dre, etc. Every goddamn album sounds the same. Switch it the fuck up. Come with 12 tracks with prodcution that the world has never heard. Get Rick Rubin to produce every track. TAKE SOME SORT OF FUCKING RISK!
