ok, so whether it be your parents, your friends, a college prof. a boss, your girl...etc...what album (hip hop) would you recommend (can't be 2pac or any other dead person).....and reasons for your choice
Personally i'd recommend Braintax - Biro Funk
reason being, i just think the content and the production is just so on point. his lyrics are just so diverse. one track he's talking about his girl and that she just takes hi for granted...and on another he's talking about being a ghost in the future going to heathrow airport. doesn't sound great from my description, but i'm slightly cut at the moment and can't be bothered going into it.
i just think it was a highly underated album. and deffinately slept on in England and never heard of in America.
Another reason i like it is because not once does he talk about normal hip hop content...ie...smoking loads of weed, buying/selling drugs, girls (apart from his own) and money. He rarely swears in his rhymes, apart from when he would actually swear. he's just like an english white talib kweli/common with a fresh twist.

Rthymalism and Reflection Eternal popped in my head immediately.
Rthymalism: The album is very musical so I think people who aren't hip hop heads can relate to that more, plus it's a fun album with a postive vibe.
Reflection Eternal: This album is more socially responsible and musically, I think it's also more accessible to non hip hop listeners like Rthymalism.
It's funny a lot of my friends who aren't into hip hop love DJ Quik's music, I made them all fans.

Probably the ones that are selling the most, which means that they have the whole package. Albums that have club tracks, song for the chicks, serious songs, weed songs... They aim for wider public. So some Em, Jay, 50 or Snoop.

Sticky Fingaz - The Autobiography Of Kirk Jones (Black Trash)
Said it before n i'll say it again, this album is on a whole nother level!!!!
the idea for makin detox, an album where each song is a different part of a story is probably partially inspired from this album since "Black trash" is built like that. This album is so entertaining, wish hes other albums where as good as this one

Something by Warren G or DJ Quik. Rhythym-al-ism or I Want It All most likely. I mean if my dad had a positive comment about I want it all then I guess that record could go ever well with anybody.
