Jay-Z - Nas Beef.... Not Really a Beef?

I just read this in a Nas article... he was talking about the beef and this is what he said

"In the beginning I told Jay we shouldn't [quarrel], ... that the streets obviously wanted us to clash," Nas said. "Nowadays brothers are getting hurt, and he agreed even before I got the words out of my mouth. But it is what it is. This is hip-hop in its purest form. Back in the day you had Bizzy Bee battling Kool Moe Dee. You had Cold Crush battling back then to see who's the greatest."

Just by reading that, it makes me think that this is a setup to get more attention and that both rappers don't really hate each other... I could care less if they do, but i just found it interesting they way he spoke on it.

I think it just started out as a non 'quarrel' thing, but when I was reading the interview in The Source he was saying something about him not working on any of Jigga's albums and that Jigga got pretty mad about it and took Nas' reasons for not doing so out of context, or some shit like that. I think the tension has just grown over time.
I was pretty happy to read about Nas and Pac's discussions over Pac intending to take the dis towards Nas off "Makaveli" & hopefully working together, but sadly got killed before he had a chance. I would've loved to of seen them work together!
