2006 has been a good year, especially in the 4th quarter... Overall I just think we all have to enjoy the good music instead of bitchin about the wack one, what it's real hip hop or not  ect , Pissin pretty sums my thoughts up on that matter... and 2007 looks FIRE

2006 was good.

Ghostface Killah - Fishscale
Ice Cube - Laugh Now, Cry Later
Busta Rhymes - Big Bang
DMX - Year Of The Dog... Again
Obie Trice - Second Rounds On Me
Method Man - 4:21
The Roots - Game Theory
The Game - Doctor's Advocate
Snoop Dogg - The Blue Carpet Treatment
Nas - Hip Hop Is Dead

Those were/will be (for Nas) my 2006 albums that I copped. Apart from DMX and Obie, which I'd say were just 'decent', I'd say all those were damn solid releases. (Well I assume Nas' new shit is solid, based on the songs I've heard.)

There's a bunch of others too on there that I'd say are worthwhile releases, but not exactly my forte. E-40 did his thing, Lupe put out something original, to me even those Ying Yang Twinz singles sounded pretty good... All in all, despite all the wack ass releases that seem to flood the radio these days, 2006 was a good year.

My wish for 2007 - rappers coming with the best lyrics and best flows they can. Producers being the best they can be and not just focusing on pleasing the crowds.

Albums looking forward to getting:
Talib Kweli
Papoose
WC
Rakim
Ice Cube
Bishop Lamont
Raekwon
Redman
Kanye West

...should they come out, that is. Some of those are the "it'll drop when it'll drop" kind. And of course anything worth getting that happens to come along.

And of course, like I think it's with pretty much everybody, somewhere at the back of my brain I'm waiting for that Detox to drop. If not next year, then some day...

2007 will be way better. Looking forward to that Suga Kain album especially, and all those G-Unit releases, Crunk Rock and hopefully Detox.

Simply off that list (I'm sure your missing some more underground releases I thought were dope), these were my fav. of 2006

First Quarter:

T.I. - King (dope ass album. Solidifies himself as the king of the south).

Second Quarter:

Ice Cube - Laugh Now, Cry Later (His best in a while if you ask me. I'd even maybe rate this has is 3rd or 4th best solo so far).

I'd like to add I was MAD disapointed with Ras Kass' Revenge Of The Spit. Very few good tracks.

Third Quarter:

Pharrell - In My Mind (not great, but not to bad. 3/5.)
Rick Ross - Port Of Miami ^^
Obie Trice - Second's Rounds On Me (pretty dope. Not 1 track got less then 3/5 for me, and their was a handlful of 4-5/5 tracks on here).
Daz Dillinger - So So Gangsta (same as Pharrell & Ross' situation).
Chingy - Hoodstar (Liked it, in a very cheesy way).
Ludacris - Release Therapy (alright. Bothered me how I thought it started off as a banger, but got worse and worse as it went on).

Fourth Quarter:

Xzibit - Full Circle (decent. Not 1 of his best, but enough to be on the list).
The Game - Doctor's Advocate (in the future: simply a classic).
Akon - Konviced (3 outta 5. Some tracks suprised me).
Snoop Dogg - The Blue Carpet Treatment (solid 4/5 stats. Best solo he's had in a while).
Clipse - Hell Hath No Fury (7 CLASSIC Hip-Hop tracks).
Lil' Scrappy - Bred 2 Die, Born 2 Live (not bad. solid 3.5/5).
Young Jeezy - The Inspiration (agian, pretty average, but good enough to be on the list).
Eminem Presents: The Re-Up (kinda disapointed, but still not bad).

Top 10 (off that list):

1. Doctor's Advocate
2. Hell Hath No Fury
3. King
4. Laugh Now, Cry Later
5. The Blue Carpet Treatment
6. 2nd Round's On Me
7. Release Therapy
8. Full Circle
9. Eminem Presents: The Re-Up
10. The Inspiration

Keep in mind, I've yet to listen to nas' l.p.

Looking forward to in 2007:

8Ball & M.J.G.
Young Buck (little hope)
Chamillionaire
Dr. Dre
50 Cent (hoping will be decent)
T.I.
Kanye West
Bishop Lamont
Ludacris
Tony Yayo (little, to no hope, but will give it a shot)
D12 (These dudes should be HUNGRY)
Ice Cube (Although I still think this is simply a rumour)
David Banner
Obie Trice
G-Unit is releasing another group album?

Some NOT on your list:

Knoc-Turn'Al
Crooked I
One-2
Big Syke
