that was pretty stupid IMO no matter how you look at it....The Pistons are a crazy team with Bosh, Melo or D Wade. Bosh>>Rasheed, Melo>>Prince>>>Wade>>>Rip Hamilton
Horrible #2 pick..To many people these days draft based on POTENTIAL, instead of someone that CAN PLAY...makes me sick..Football does this the most
No doubt Darko was / is a bust. And it's also pretty ridiculous to say that somehow the Pistons were better of without Melo. The thing is, they won the championship right after that. One player doesn't guarantee a championship - a team does. The Pistons were the opitime of team basketball, they had a great chemistry. They didn't need that pick to do that. But say they did draft Melo, he'd likely have gotten some good minutes and would have likely changed the whole dynamic of that team. Maybe they would have been better, maybe not. And they still had the best record just last year, they just couldn't get it done in the playoffs. But lets be real, with 20/20 hindsight, of course they'd rather have Melo.

It's not that I think they were better off without Melo or anybody....but I just don't think they would have won the championship that year. For one, we know he has a helluva ego, and that may have caused some chemistry issues there. Even though all of those rookies were skilled that year, I don't think that would have guaranteed them winning any ring. They proved it to us that talent alone doesn't win championships. And I don't think they would have acquired Rasheed at that time if they had one of those other stars.

Yes, I would be mad. If I'm Detroit, I'm saying why not Bosh? Who's happy with just 1 championship, it's all about creating the greatest DYNASTIES.

Imagine if Dirk and Steve Nash never played on the Mavs together....the thought of those two together just sounds like an automatic championship. Especially T-Mac and Yao....before it happened, everybody KNEW, and I mean KNEW, that it was the next Kobe and Shaq tandem. So yeah...I just think the stars were alligned for the Pistons that year, and they may have possibly had a dynasty in the future, but it's no guarantee at all that they would have won one ring, let alone have 3-4.
