pop up websites ur thaughts?

now alot of websites are makin it so u view them in a pop up window i was just wondering what people think about these. personally they annoy me cos i don't reall y have a great computer n it just slows it all down some more n is more hastle no disrespect on those using them on my site its just my feedback i like what lil j has done 4 westcoast2k with giving u the option to stay in the normal non pop up window

i run @ 1280x1024 .. so sites squished for 640x480 look wack

I' ve expressed my thoughts on these before... and will say again, i dont like them... pop ups in general annoy me......

I Think It Gives You Design Flexibility Not Possible Within The Stiff Regular Browser.  That's Why I Like Them.  The Texture Mapping Pop Ups Are A Trip.  For Instance, I Could Never Make This Page Look EXACTLY How I Want It, But If I Use This As An Enter Page, With A Popup, I Can Make The Popup Look EXACTLY How I Want, With Minimal Restrictions.  It's A Webdesigner's Wet Dream.  BTW, The Argument That Your Technology Isn't Advanced Enough To See it (Your Computer's Old, Etc.) I Don't Hold Valid Because B-pLeAsE Designed Our Entire Site On A 486.  Ain't None Of Yall Running Less Than That.

Yes with a pop up you can fill the whole page... however I just dont like them... its the " pop up " feel, not the design, yall got tight designs, but its the " pop up"  feel... i hate pop ups and as web desingers, they should see how people feel about them.... but you cant please everyone, but most people hate pop ups all together

also the annoying thing is u take away the options like back/forward n typing in a new address etc.

the things most people are using popups for can be achieved in a fixed width table with a little more work.

check out www.tharow.com they still have the old feel, within a "proper" window.

yeh thats right, it gives u the option to do things you cant do with the regular window and you can resize it and make it look different and stuff. but hey you realy cant compare this website windows to those vote and porn pop ups on those mp3 sites, that is annoying.

Well I don't know if a resized window (always smaller) and a cool looking window is the reason why people go to ur sites, its the content, but hey whatever floats ur boat, im just stating my views ....

LOL I Feel Tension.

Personally, I Do'nt Think Tharow.com Looks Right, And I Don't Like The Design Of Most Regular Browser Webpages Online, Because The Design Scrolls.  Maybe If People Uses More Frames It Would Look Better, But I Don't Like The Design Being Broken By The Size of The Browser Window.  If You Do A Popup, I'ts All Like A Single Module, Looks Much Cleaner.

hmm has this topic changed http://www.gfunk.de site?i started it yesturday n yesturday the webmaster changed it back to the normal window 4 me its a bit of a result cos now i'll probably visit more like i used to before it was a pop up, it might be a coinsidence n the guy had other ppl saying they prefer the normal window. but hey just thaught i'd let u know
