dre's bin laden song / my view on fredwreck

dre's anti-bin laden song has officially been shelved. its a crazy track but you'll just have to imagine what it would sound like. the main reason is safety. now that anthrax is being sent through the mail it is a cause for concern, because dre is high profile enough that an anti- bin laden song could make him a target. dre's not really concerned for his own safety, he's mainly worried about the large number of people who might come in contact with such a letter. although the possibility of such a letter being sent to dre is VERY VERY miniscule, it is still a possibiity nonetheless.
now to fredwreck - leave the man alone. he's got enough problems right now dealing with prejudice from his name and ethnic background. it is also very unfair to label fred as unoriginal or a dre biter.he is anything but unoriginal. yes. he does sound like dre and melman once in a while but so do a lot of other producers nowadays. plain and simple fredwreck just loves the same sounds and instruments dre does. fredwreck is THE best musician i have ever seen come into hip hop as a producer. most producers can barely play one instrument. fred can play close to a dozen. dre plays keyboards and the piano very well, but still hires better musicians to play them most of the time. dre hires musicians to play all the other instruments. contrary to many people's beliefs dj quik is also the same way. he plays a lot of keys by himself, but also hires musicans to play everything else. fredwreck can play every keyboard out there very very well. he can also play guitar, bass, strings, flutes, percussion and other odd instruments. fred still hires other musicans to play strings and guitar sometimes, but soon plans to do everything on his own.
so its easy for the casual listener to think fred's copying dre, but those who have seen and heard both of them work know he's not. and there is absolutely no beef between the two. fredwrecks solo album (due spring next year) will see him moving away from dre's sounds a bit. besideds dre is gonna do things different than he is now anyway. fred's future sound will see a big focus on vintage keyboards, like the moog synth. dre and fredwreck both love live instruments so they will always have some similarities.so give fredwreck the respect he deserves. also check for the answer to my trivia question in a few minutes. peace.

people gettin all discombobulated bout fred wreck. he only sounded like Dre on Space Boogie, his other shit is mostly very original. his newer style is just some modern electro-funk, its tight. i preferred his older shit with Frost and them tho, but yea he's dope

I agreed wit Loc, it seems Fred only morphed into Dre for "Space Boogie." On "Bones" he didn't sound like Dre, e.i "Fuck Wit Us," & "Raise Up." I'm really anticipating "The Atoms."

First of all to DatMuthaphuckaDan, don't call Dre a pussy just because he don't wanna release the song. He's lookin out for his own safety here. And Mellowman, most of us love Fredwreck, I know I do. I know he's not a biter. I've done some research and he's worked with lots of various artists who have had nothing but good things to say about him. Personally, I can't wait for his album. I think it's gonna be tight and I'd never doubt his skills as a musician, I think he's already proven that. And by the way, Mellowman, please don't leave us; we are devout fans of all the artists you know and work with and we depend on you to give us the knowledge and insight whenever you post. So, thank you very much for every tidbit of info you've decided to share with us. Peace brotha.

This is getting out of hand. Mellowman is just a regular member of the board that goes under the false name Mellowman from time to time. His posts are a fuckin joke.

Fred Wreck is generally dope... his remix of "Comewiddit" by Ras Kass Ahmad & Saafir is incredible.
