I always felt that if Marino had a defense like the Niners he'd have at least 3 Superbowls (one of which would have been over Montana). It's really close and I obviously wouldn't mind if I had one guy over the other, but on a terrible team with no o-line and no run game I'd probably rather have Marino because he is quicker to pass, has a better arm, and I think better vision. That's the difference for me. Marino but only by a hair.
Montana did have Rice but when he met Marino head to head in the Superbowl he didn't have Jerry and Miami had a great team that year they were 14-2, and the Niners won so that is proof enough that Joe is the GOAT not to mention the 3 other rings he got

And Joe could make any necesary throw, not to mention he could get himself out of trouble much better then Marino could, montana wasnt super fast but he good escapabilty and was FANTASTIC at giving himself more time . And Marino had PLENTY OF WEAPONS. Montana took a team with NO OFFENSIVE WEAPONS WHATSOEVER In 93, great defense but Montana WON Games for the Cheifs. You gotta be kidding me Shallow. I love how u take shit away from people cuz there defense was good. HAHAHA! yet you talk about how underrated Aikman was, like his defense wasnt TOP 5 EVERY YEAR....Youre so biased its disgusting

You cannot deny that Marino was better at getting the ball away faster than Montana was. Joe was better throwing on the move, but that doesn't mean much if the line collapses. I just said I'd rather have Marino on a bad team then Joe but I made it very clear I'd love to have Joe. Just because you give too much credit to the QB for a winning season and Superbowl doesn't mean I have to. The first year Monatana was on the Chiefs he split his duties with Krieg and they were 11-5, the year before they had just Kried and they were 10-6. Yeah they were out in the first game of the playoffs but after Kried left and it was just Montana they were out in the first game once again and who took out Joe Cool in the playoffs with a very similar team to the Cheifs? Why none other than Big Dan Marino who outplayed Monatana all day if I remember correctly. And I'll take Marcus Allen on on my team in the big games over Irving Fryar any day of the week. Allen had over 100 AP yards that game. And what kept ol' Dan out of the Superbowl that year? It wasn't his 23 for 38 with 3TDs and no INTs against San Diego. Maybe it was the missed FG at the end of the game by Stoyanovich. Or maybe it was Bernie Parmalee getting tackled in the endzone for a safety earlier on. Either one of those plays lost that game and kept Marino out of another Superbowl. (That being said he probably would have lost to the Niners that year again particularly with Miami's bad D that year). The only times in Dan's career where his defense was even in the same league as the offense or better (except the Rookie season) he had to go against Buffalo where the Bills scored 44 points to Miami's 34. Championship's aren't worth much when you're picking individual players for your team and in this case I'd pick Marino.

There are always big plays that change games, im sure 80 percent of playoff games u can say "what if" cuz every game is that close. Id rather have Montana did u ever see him in superbowls? The guy was NUTS
yeah it is speculation. They still would have had to beat the Steelers IN PITT to get to the SB. So yes if Stoyanivich makes that fg they are in the AFC CHAMPINSHIP. BUT ITS SPECULATION TO SAY THEYD BE IN THE SB!

For some reason I thought Miami/SD was the AFC championship (a case of memory loss happens happens to everyone I guess, like you and Manning's 2 INTs against Pit last year). I do think they would have beaten the Steelers though, but I do take back the statement that the 1 kick cost them the Superbowl spot as far as it being a fact is concerned. For the record if I thought Marino would have gotten more votes I would have voted Montana. That's just how close I put them. It's not like Manning and Brady. I'd never vote for Brady over Manning in anything.
