what are 2 bedroom apartments going for to rent in SoCal these days?

I was going to get one last year to rent but the prices were through the fucking roof even in the IE area people wanted $1500 or over a month I couldn't fucking believe it. I'm used to paying just $700-$900 a month in Mass. Anyone know of any areas i should look in Southern Cali for good prices? I'm going to be going out there pretty soon and i don't want to stay in my brothers garage all the time i'm there. If i get a apartment i might just stay in Cali because thats what i want to do.

Depends where you look. Apartments are high as a bitch either way, but I've seen a few 2 bedrooms in the $900 range.

Santa Barbara 1 bed/1bath = $1075. 1 bed/1bath = $900
Long beach 2 bedroom/1 bath for 1300. Near Atherton and PCH
Santa Monica  studio/1bath for $1150
West Los Angeles 3 bedroom/2.5 bath for 2400

My moms payin' like 7 hundred something for an apartment of 4 people. We lived wit 5 people before for like 6 hundred something.

I'd pay up to 1200 a month for something but thats my limit or i'd be seriously broke and thats with 2 people (me and my girl). I guess I need to get back to school before i think about staying out there for good

2 bedrooms are around $1400 a month in my area and that's pretty much as cheap as it gets around here. If you want to live in a bad area, you can get it for cheaper, maybe 1100 a month or so. I'm just glad I bought a place before the prices went through the roof.
