That DJ Software and equipment for laptops....
« on: April 02, 2007, 01:24:28 PM »
In L.A., I have seen a few DJ's use some program on their laptops, along with some equipment that looks just like turntables that they place next to the laptop, and they have DJ's from there, being able to mix songs and all. What is this called, and has anybody used it?

Nah, I haven't been in L.A. in about a month...but I'm sure it's the same type of setup. I saw it at Beverly Center at Up against the wall, the Wet Lounge on Sunset, and somewhere else. It could even be the same dude...it was a black dude who was about 5'7 or so

Aite haha well I know of a couple of ways. One way (the way i'm thinking of going) is using Atomix Virtual DJ and my shit hooked up to the sound card on your computer and you use these special timecoded vinyls that let you spin mp3s on the tables (check it out at http://www.atomix.com) and then there's another way to do it which I heard is alot better but it's expensive. I don't remember the name of it but when I do i'll put it up.

***Months later***

Thanks a lot. I am still thinking about buying it. I might try to make it my second occupation when I return to L.A. for good in 2008.
