Sony Says They've Won Video Game War...

Well in the video game world, game developers make their games to the best selling the video game console... because they'll have a better chance to sell more if they know more people will be able to play the game... Sony arrogantly stated that they've won the video game war between Microsoft and Nintendo... now even though the PS2 has been out for a year longer, these statistics are quite in favor for Sony

Sony: 30 Million consoles sold
Nintendo: 5 Million consoles sold
Microsoft: 2.3 Million consoles sold..


out of the top ten video games sold last year... Sony holds the top 5 spots with

3. Final Fantasy X

Video Game critics are saying they don't see how Microsoft can really compete with Sony and Nintendo... they also believe that their is only enough room for two major video game consoles... they also think it will all come down to the Online game play by these two consoles... all three plan on going online later this year, with nintendo making owners pay $50 to keep the service, Xbox and Sony will offer the service for free, you will just need a pre-exisiting internet connection...however with sony you will need to buy an extra unit for it...

we will see

and the article didnt mention xbox got the better version of max payne and nba2k2? oh well,microsoft easily has the best online plan,and its easy for sony to say theyve won the "video game war" after having the ps2 out for 1 year longer......IMO the ps2 i sjust living off hype

Of course Sony is gonna sell more consoles cause they have been out a year longer like Sub-Z said, and they have alot more games out for their system right now!! I also believe that Sony is just living off thier hype!! Playstation 1 was a tight ass system and dont get me wrong Playstation 2 is tight too but when it all comes down to it X-Box will prevail as tha best system out!! imo no1 can top what X-Box has to offer with their online gaming!! Only time will tell!!!!

Yea, but in November (a year after xbox released)... Microsoft wont even be at 10 million consoles sold... in sony's first year, they sold 30 Million... Xbox isn't even on course to sell 10 Million in its first... thats a lot... i was talking to an Xbox representative at work last week... he did say that they have 300 new games ready to release...

I think if anyone is living off Hype is Microsoft... I remember a year and a half ago when they talked about the Xbox... they made it seem like they were going to have a system to blow people away... they're not even close... their the worst selling system and most of their games aren't selling well... I believe "wreckless" and "halo" are the only steady sellers... these were the top ten video games to sell last month...

ps2 WAS living off the hype... now they've actually got some quality games out... but really until GTA3 hit they didn't have a market killer... personally i think Halo is the best game around right now (and that's a nintendo fan speaking)... that said, X-Box doesn't have much else to offer me, yet. after seeing what everyones coming with at e3 though, i think all console owners are in for a great year.

I think overall sales wise Nintendo might be the eventual winners judging by how well they do out of GB/GBA.  All those cutesy platform games (which I'm crap at) have a big fan base.

Hahah... sony doesn't even have to worry... the unit costs $50 to go online... from their its easy.... nothing else needed... so the Xbox already has the online installed... but if it can't supply games (like it is now) then who's gonna want to go online anyway.
