All of the people who complain about the supposed "Wii drought" are going to have to find something else to complain about. Not only has Satoru Iwata announced that there are 45 Nintendo Wii titles in development, but now a list has come out of some powerhouse titles being released this very year.

Nintendo officially states that the following games will be coming out for Wii in Japan in 2007 (via IGN):

Donkey Kong Taru Jet Race (aka DK Bongo Blast) – June 28th, 2007
Wii Health Pack - 2007
Disaster: Day of Crisis - 2007
Mario Party 8 - 2007
Project H.A.M.M.E.R. - 2007
Wii Music - 2007
Super Mario Galaxy - 2007
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - 2007
Battalion Wars II - 2007
Forever Blue - 2007
Mario Strikers Charged - 2007
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - 2007
Mario & Sonic at the Olympics - 2007

OUCH!... Nintendo are really going all out on this shit.

I really hope some of these games show off the Wii's unique functionality - Nintendo shouldn't disappoint here.

Resi Evil 4 still looks like the game that'll make me buy the Wii this year though.

We Fly High

i think first party nintendo games will of course know how to maximize the wii controllers the most and in the best way. when i play some of the wii games that have come out so far, a lot of the wii motion controls feel so extraneous. like the motion controls were just implemeneted for the sake of it, and dont actually add any fun value to the game. something like marvel alliance, that game didnt sit well with me at all. like whats the point of doing all these motion controls on a straight up like side scroller. and it aint like its really mimicking the moves either. something like Red Steel that was better since it was kind of just mimicking the gun and everything, even though the sword part was pretty wack.

Smash Bros. Site Update
Huge list of musicians revealed.

May 22, 2007 - Nintendo followed up on its promise from last week with a big update to the Smash Bros. Brawl official website. Lucky for us, the update can be viewed the the language of your choice, including English!

The site is a bit lacking in new content at this point, but there are a few notable points. According to the English (US) and Japanese sites, the game is indeed due out for release some time this year. Other versions don't list a release date.

The site also lists a huge staff of musicians who are lending their talent to the project. The list includes everyone from Nintendo's own Koji Kondo to such familiar videogame composers as Yuzo Koshiro, Motoi Sakuraba and Noriyuki Iwadare. The lineup of composers from Square-Enix, Capcom, Media Vision, SEGA and Konami, among others, hints at possible other non-Nintendo brawler inclusions in the anticipated title.

On The Edge of Insanity

The Sega composer is the guy who did the music for Streets of Rage, so maybe we will see some of those characters in the game. At this rate I'd definitely expect Sonic to be in there.
