I think 2002-2003  had the most potential in terms of D.R. making a comeback. Suge's 2001 release from prison and his plans to make a comeback were all in the news, Kurupt, Crook, Left Eye, Eastwood etc there was alotta talent on the label, Suge and the artists were doing (radio) interviews, appearing in magazines and on TV, Crooked's album was building up anticipation, Murder Inc, Juve and UTP, Ray J were just a couple of people who were aligned with D.R.
But at the same time there was also alotta negativity that kept Suge from doing business deals with any major distributors (still there were rumors that Lyor was interested). The shooting at the D.R. offices, the police raids, Suge goin in and out of jail, the hostility between D.R. and Snoop and his camp, the persistent rumors of Suge's involvement in the Pac/Biggie murder cases etc. Seemed like D.R.'s notoriety did more bad than good...

And oh yeah Dysfunktional Family OST does have alotta strong cuts on there.

Only reason Death Row still gets people interested is their unreleased catalog. As far as putting out new shit, nobody gives a fuck about them anymore.

No disrespect but speak for yourself homie. I was anticipating new stuff from the 2002/2003 era the same way I did when it was 94/95/96 and last year I couldn't wait for the Petey Pablo and Lake albums to come out.

Seriously, I don't think they would have put up numbers like by in the day but they would have did ok. But Suge had no idea how to run his label after Dre left. No promotion or anything from him.
