XL Middleton - Major (Feat. Crooked I & Black)

XL Middleton & Crooked I Are "Major" - May 26, 2007 By : Rud

Early this month saw the first dubcnn update on the latest solo offering from XL Middleton. The ever present, material releasing, fan favourite; has been hard at work in the studio finishing his latest solo album "Barliament Drunkadelic" that is now due for release on September 25, 2007.

In that update [see; XL Middleton Readies "Barliament Drunkadelic"] we released the single from the album entitled "I Don't Like You" featuring Bo$$ in which they tackle the lack of direction in Hip-Hop at present.

Today we are back with a track that sees a collaboration many have wanted for some time. XL Middleton recently recruited fellow fan favourite Crooked I for his album and they recorded a cut called "Major" also featuring Black. This is a record sure to have fans of both these artists clamouring, download and take a listen below.

Hotdamn...nice song! All three artists had some good verses. And lol @ that Paris Hilton line, that had me rolling.
Crooked came with a sick verse once again: the way he plays with his words/sounds, dude is amazing on the mic.

Thanks for the hook-up & props to XL for hooking up with Crooked I!

Tie your leg to a car, tie the other to a pole
Talk shit and laugh cause I got the gift of gab
Hop in the car, hit the gas, watch your ass split in half

I guess I would've felt this beat in 1997... But ten years later... I don't know. Crooked was dope though.

all 3 came correct on it... the beat definitely has that "old west" feel to it, but i still like "old west" beats, so i ain't complaining... overall i thought it was a hot track... props for this XL... looking forward to hearing more from you

i can feel that my only thing is, i wonder what people think the "new west" should sound like??? most cats trying out different shit out here are just copying off east coast or southern styles.

furthermore, why does any west coast hip hop with a funky twist to it get criticized so much? when kanye, krs, nas, and rakim did that "classic" song over the primo beat, nobody said "aw man this sounds like some old 1998 east coast shit". what's the difference? and im not asking rhetorically nor trying to get under anyone's skin. i'm asking this to get a good discussion going.
