The Up In Smoke Tour DVD...

I figured it's been a while since this had been discussed, so time for a new thread. I was watching this again last night, and every time I put it on I can't help but be struck by what a momentous venture it was. I don't think we'll ever see a tour boasting that magnitude of names and, more importantly, unity, ever again. If it does happen, only Dre could co-ordinate the whole thing.

Another thing I always think when watching this is how dope all the backstage footage was. I wish they had released a separate DVD that was made up purely of this stuff. I remember Nate at one point suggest that there was a whole lot of footage on those cameras. I doubt the tour DVD even skimmed the surface. An accompaniment would have made an incredible documentary. My fave moments:

It's unlikely, sure, but we NEED Still Smokin'!

I really wish I could have been there.  I remember I was like 12 when it happened, and begged my parents to let me go, but of course, no dice.  When Dre drops Detox, I'm sure they'll do another tour, and you can best believe I'll be there.

The tour was the shit and the DVD is damn good too, however, they certainly could have made a trylogy with all the footage they shot around the country.  I was hoping to see more Devin, Cube, WC, Mack Dime, Jayo, Warren G, and some others in the DVD.  Oh well the shit is still heat.  The mini-movie w/Snoop and Dre, the talking skull, the bitches, the weed, drank, etc. were just the tip of the iceberg.

Yeah, I'm hoping he'll do a Still Smokin' tour when Detox drops and take it to Europe as well.
And yup...they should've accompanied the DVD-release with a bonus disc compiling a lot of backstage footage and footage from the warm-up acts: Jayo Felony, Tha Eastsidaz, TQ, etc...

yup. i was 16, 17 when i saw this tour.

it was absolutely ridiculous. the first concert i ever been to and probably the best ever.

yeah i seriously watched this dvd like 100000 times.

Has anyone got or can rip that instrumental at the start of the video tape (not DVD menu instrumental).

It's the instrumental that plays when showing all the crowds lining up outside etc...
