Another interview with AMG + QUIK (FiXXers)
« on: June 13, 2007, 07:15:27 AM »
ran across this... they said they're trying to get Too $hort on the album  8)
http://www.bump-mag.com/features_thefixxers.html

most of you will probably be disappointed by how they speak on the west coast.

Fixxers (Quik): I’ll say this. The only thing you can do to a west coast hip-hop funk beat is fast forward to the next beat.
Especially now. I mean I don’t even like it.

wow.

peace

Well considering that he held on to it for such a long time, while other producers stopped making funk tunes..
But to totally remove himself from it..thats a shame..
I would really like to see them expand further with  westcoast funk music..
guess that wish will never be answered!!

lol @ Quik having the white boy rhythm. And that's real though what AMG said:

"Don’t be mad because you couldn’t get on the train when this shit was smokin’. You know what I’m sayin’? They think it’s going to happen again. It came from the 80’s when it was a lot of gang bangin’ and drug dealing. That’s where the energy of those rhymes came from. Now these young dudes think they can rhyme about smoking blunts and how their rims spin and sound hard on it and think it’s going to work. It don’t work like that. We done did it already. Done deal. We did it the best. It’s over."

This is the realest interview I've read by these guys - it's funny, they actually explain their stance a lot more successfully here than in most of the other pieces I've read on them.
"I fornicate with porn stars, sluts and strippers.
Well - only on the Internet but what's the difference?"

Quote
BM: Quik, in one of the lines from the first single you say “You can find me up in GA showing off my LA.” Did you
recently move to the “A?”
Fixxers (Quik): No Comment [Laughs].
Fixxers (AMG): Would that be bad if Quik moved to Atlanta?
Fixxers (Quik): If that were the case, how would that affect you or my fans or anybody?
Fixxers (AMG): Would you feel like he’s no longer a west coast rapper if he moved?

haha made that guy look dumb

The realist interview I read from them so far.. Also from what I heard quik say over the radio he said when he got back to L.A. That they were gonna drop the next single.. But quik and amg were in the building with power 106.. The other day with the ball 4 real players.. It was dope.. From what I heard they didn't talk much about music.. Quik and amg.. Were like promoting these dudes.. But before this one there was another one like 1 week ago quik called power 106 and said when they got back to L.A. They were gonna drop the next single.. And well the tour ends on the 18th.. In L.A. ...So look forward to that..

There's nothing wrong with trying to evolve your sound, move onto new things and whatnot... But that doesn't fix the fact that the beats from The Fixxers (granted, only heard a few) so far have been staright up wack. I'm all for some brand new shit, but it doesn't matter if it's new or not if it sucks. Make all the new shit you want, just MAKE IT DOPE. Besides, how is their sound exactly anything new? Sure, Quik hasn't done the type of shit before, but TV and radio have been full of this sound for years. I've heard that sound so much it's starting to come out my ass. It's the same fuckin sound that "killed Hip-Hop".

This Fixxers shit pains me. Quik is that dude, everytime I hear their single I can't believe Quik actually did that shit.
