Aaliyah: will they release the video?
« on: August 26, 2001, 06:52:02 PM »
This may not be the right time to speak on it, but do you all think they will release Aaliyahs video with R Kelly? I think outta respect, you shouldn't, but I'm not sure.

I think they will release the video.... but who knows?

What about the MTV VMA awards though? She was scheduled to be there... I dont think she was gonna perform... she was probably just gonna present an award... I'm not sure. I'm kind of expectin MTV to do some sort of tribute thing for Aaliyah though... I bet they will.

Its alright to release her video. As long as it doesn't disrespect her legacy or image in any way its aiight. They still release Biggie and 2Pac videos with their image so its the same thing.

I think playing the 106 & Park show that she was on last week is kinda disrespectful. Its obvious BET is trying to get ratings.

It would b a shame 4 the video not 2 b aired, it's best 2 see peeps in their true light when tragic things like this happen. I'm pretty sure she would want peeps 2 remember her for her music & showing the vid would jus' b a mark of respect 4 her & her talent.

It was a rumor. Wouldn't he have gone to jail for that anyways? I know he is alot older than her.

I was watching TRL (yeah thats right I was) and Timbaland was on a phone talking to one of the news guys. He was talking about how much Aaliyah meant to him and how she was like a sister to him. He said its like he lost half of himself when she died. You could tell by his voice he was really depressed.

DMX had a statement where he said she was beautiful, talented and sweet and this is a horrible loss. He said we should pray for the family.

And then they also had a statement from R. Kelly and it said he was devastated by the loss and his condolences go out to Aalyahs family.

And then Puffy was hosting the show cause Carson was gone. He said that everyone should pray for the family especially because they were all close to eachother. He remembered he would see Aalyah, her mom and her brother walking together holding hands and talking all the time.

Damn, this is like so unbeleivable. I know stuff like this happens all the time, planes crashes, car crashes...but it's like a tragic loss. It's 2 weird as we didn't know her personally but.......I jus' hope all their families pulls through these hard times.
