Fugees - The Score [A Forgotten CLASSIC?]
« on: August 19, 2001, 12:27:32 PM »
Okay I Was Browsin' Thru My Old Albums And I Came Across The Fugees' The Score...I Popped It In And Was Amazed On How Dope This Album Is...I Completely Forgot About This Slept-On CLASSIC...The Fugees' Came Correct Mixing All World Music Into A Hip Hop Album...That Ain't Been Done Ever...And When Peeps Bring Up CLASSIC Joints They Seem To Forget This Album...

Well I'm Just Wondering If Any Of Yall Feel That This Album Is CLASSIC?

I find the skits in Stankonia more annoying then the ones in The Score. That album is a definite classic. Every track was a banger.

Word...this shit has defo been slept on in the past couple o' yrs. I havn't bump'd it fo a while but it's a straight up unforgetable classic. I think most o' them have fell off  material wise since the release of The Score though. I know Wyclef is blowing up but nothing he's released has been upto scratch wit what he did on the score, same goes wit Pras IMO. IMO I think L.Hill has dropped the most heat since then.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

Man i don't think anyone has forgotten the best selling rap album of history, the reason nobody talks about The Fugees anymore is 'cause they don't longer exist(as a group)

lol .. i bought that album when i was about 14 ... although i liked some rap at the time i wasn't into the more hardcore stuff like i am now .... i really only got it cause i liked Laurens voice .. and the sonf "killing me softly" but when i got it home and listened to it .. it sounded NOTHING like that song ..
so i brought it back to Virgin and pretended that i had bought it 4 my brother but he already had it ... and exchanged it 4 a Spices girls album or something .... who i thought were the shit at the time ... lol

it's not really a 5 mic album "the score" 4.5 is still classic, but there's 4 songs on there that are HORRIBLY produced (mixed and what not) and the mc'ing is what saves it, like a couple of people said before the skits get annoying too, it's still a classic but i give 2001 4.5 mics too they're both not perfect albums but they're still classic

This album is the truth. I think I am going to bump that now. I wouln't give it a perfect 5 but it's very close maybe a 4.5 or 4.7. There are some tracks I don't like plus why is there 3 versions of fugeela. It's a good song but it doesn't need 3 versions.

yea that album was dope.... that shit had me hooked on the fugees i bought everything they put out after that.....

including......

wyclef - carnival, ecleftic
lauryn - miseducation
pras - ghetto superstar LP
melky sedeck - (forgot the name but its somewhere in my collection)
John forte - (forgot the name again but this cat was dope)

only one outta the fugees im really feeling anymore though is wycelf and he seems to be over extending himself or somethin..... none of that shit is as dope as it used to be

but i liked both clef albums

lauryn can eat a dick... she can knock her ego down a few notchs, kick the im here to preach spirituality attitude, and apologize for being a bitch and i might buy her shit when she drops the next lp
