remember back in the mid-90's when nobody cared about them.  They had the same shit going back then, but most people either just thought it was aiight, or didn't pay no attention.  But now the game is watered down, and Def Jam has alot of connections with radio, The Source, etc., so they can push average artists to platinum.  I mean, look at what label the Source album is coming out on, Def Jam.  Russell Simmons has the game on lock.

Jay Z is VERY average. His spits shit about money, ice, and hoez over watered down beats. I dont know, Ive just never felt him, probably never will either.

DMX is a very average lyricist, but he can get deep, and he has alot of energy. I liked his first LP, but his second LP was below average and his 3rd LP was only slightly better than that. Hopefully he'll comeback with his new LP.

if you're going by content then you're saying daz,kurupt,crooked i,xzibit, and 80% of the favorite artists on here are "average" lyrically,(even though i dislike jay-z) Jigga has an advantage,he is not in no fucking top ten though,i'd say in the top 30 at best,he had some dope old lyrics but to this day he has some original rhymes but his topics are no more or less original than most of the shit we all seem to listen to,i dislike him because he's overrated and his voice is monotonous though.

DMX is average,but he's not as bad as i used to think.He can come nice,that song Slippin proves that,also his verse on The Grand Finale was nice,that one prayer one is good,he came good on ain't no sunshine and "what these bitches want" is dope as hell to me so i'd actually say he's a little above average.

Firstly DMX is less then average rapper, he is a fag. Saying "what" & having to hear barking noises all the time is not in my opinon a good song. His first album wasnt to bad but then he turned weak as fuck.

As for Jigga man, back in that day Jay was dope (gotta admit it) but now something went wrong (maybe him brining albums out constantly) and he has just turned weaker in the MCing department, lyrically though he aint to bad I suppose, though he cant compare to anyone like Big Pun who is just a classic lyricist. Jigga dont get much of a play on my comp all that much, and he aint no where near my Top 20 MCs.
