Both have social commentary in their rhymes. Cube was more political early in his career. Both went through this mafioso don type stage, Escobar for Nas and the Don Mega for Cube, both's lyrics suffered during this stage and their weakest albums came out around this time. They are both 2 different mcs. Tough call man.

nas is a better lyricist no doubts to me....cube is a beast and at his peak was considered amongst the best, nas has kept relavent througout his whole career and still to this day his lyrics and style of writing is so sick whiles other writers are no outdated (kurupt) his shit is still poppin, nas is a beast, best rapper alive....cube at his peak was a monster and still is sick, immma huge cube but nas is the better of the two imo.....though nobody can deny some of cubes classics.....

Nas is deeper, but you can't name a subject that Cube hasn't rapped on. Those 2 are the best rappers ever, doesn't matter to me what order you put them in.

Cube by a little, Nas is a great lyricist but he his extremely overrated because there's this perception that he's on another level lyrically from other MCs...mainly because of Illmatic. Nas is better with wordplay but Cube is the better storyteller....Cube also has more substance to his rap, although Nas is not at all far behind.
