A year ago this month saw the worldwide introduction of the talented Watts native Jag here on Dubcnn. Since then his work ethic and grinding has created a strong buzz and more importantly an ever growing fan base. From his shows across the U.S. to releasing his debut mixtape in conjunction with Dubcnn for free download Jag has shown the desire for success.

The first installment in his "Music Money" mixtape series was released at the end of January 2007 for free download right here on Dubcnn. The mixtape "Money Over Fame" is the first release in a planned trilogy of mixtapes to lead up to a debut album.

The former New York "Fight Klub" competitor kept the mixtape simple ensuring he showcased his skill, mic prescense and lyrics over a blend of original production and mixtape style freestyles.

The original production on the mixtape was handled by Ricc Rude, 1500 Or Nothing, THX, The Animal House, Notch, and DJ Prosper and what Jag delivered over these beats was his multi-dimensional persona and skill-set, showing that he is quickly becoming a well rounded artist.

Today we have news on the sequel to the debut mixtape, the second installment in the "Music Money" series. As we previously reported the release is to be entitled "Tha General Strikes Back" and is due out later this summer. The first track from the mixtape has just been mixed and mastered and Dubcnn has been presented with the exclusive download for all our readers.

"Check Out My Swag" features a bass heavy, club friendly instrumental with a Jay-Z sampled hook complemented by Jag demonstrating his versatility on the mic. Although a single ready for radio and a hit in the making Jag ensures the lyric sifters will be satisfied while still delivering a record filled with swagger and bravado sure to gather a whole new legion of fans; This General is preparing for War.
