That most likely is a promo poster.Cube himself just about pushed gold last time, Dub needs all the help he can get.

They homeboys and Cube wants to see WC succeed and do well. Lord knows Cube does not need the money from it so it makes sense.I'm not saying it's bad for WC to have Ice Cube help him get that exposure, but to have him so obviously involved with the album gives a hint of weakness, as if WC can't do it on his own. Surely, Cube knows ways to help WC get his name out there, but his involvement in selling the album is too obvious to go unnoticed. Cube probably did some great stuff to improve the quality of the album, but at the end of the day it's WC's album, not some collaboration project!Learn something about marketing bro. This is a smart move, period, end of story. This shows nothing about weakness. Ice Cube is a brand name, he is huge, wayyyyyyyy more people recognize him than WC. People gonna see that poster, see Cube, and they may be cube fan's but not really know about WC, but they gonna check it out because of Cube. What the hell is wrong with Cube's obvious involvement to get this record to sell? Isn't that the point of the record...make it sell? If it wasn't, than I am sure there would be no poster at all and WC would be giving these cd's out for free.

who fucking cares what you have a degree in, you lack knowledge in marketing. Putting cube in that poster is strictly a marketing ploy. Having his involvement will only increase sales, it won't hurt them at all.
And a cube fan that doesn't know who WC is? There is lots of them, not every rap spends hours a day reading internet forums.
There is a reason why WC doesn't go platinum. What the fuck does quality material have to do with selling? How are people going to know its quality if they don't even know it exists? Again, learn some marketing before you talk about shit like this.

Anyone who has somewhat kept up with whatever Ice Cube did throughout his career, must know he's been close with WC for over a decade. They've been appearing on records together countless times. Is someone a fan when they don't have a clue of what their favorite artist has done throughout the years? And will someone who doesn't, automatically buy a record because of Cube's involvement? I think not.Quote from: acgrundy on July 16, 2007, 05:50:18 PMThere is a reason why WC doesn't go platinum. What the fuck does quality material have to do with selling? READ IT and ask questions about whatever it is your pitiful mind is having trouble understanding... Question the logic all you want, but like I said, don't act like I don't know what I'm talking about...WC could have put this album out as a "WC featuring Ice Cube" similar to what Ghostface and Raekwon used to do in the 90s, if that's what the album is: WC featuring Ice Cube. If it really is a WC solo, Cube can surely help him all they want by putting some power in the actual marketing campaign, but keep it a WC solo if that's what it is. They can let the audience know about Cube's involvement, because like I said, Cube has access to plenty of means of getting in touch with them and exposing them to the potential greatness of the album. I'm talking about tv, radio, newspapers, (online) magazines, all of it. It'll require some effort, but if they appear together and let people know Ice Cube has put in time into helping his long time partner WC crafting the ultimate westcoast masterpiece...don't you think people would understand?

I think for a promo its cool I think it def could get ppl to buy it cause of cube. Cause they arent like real big hip hop heads they jus like some hip hop so I think with cube on the poster it could def get the more casual fan to gain some interest in this record which they otherwise would not think twice about.
