I was half-expecting Eminem on their list+1-Ti feel you but eminem > more than half the industry, imo-TOh there is no question about that....I was making fun of MTV riding the mainstream crowd by still picking Eminem as a "hot" artist when he's been nowhere to be seen for a while. I'm not a huge Eminem fan by any means....BUT Eminem from 98-03 could spit as well as anyone out right now....doesnt matter if he's white, black, or pink. I would never hate on the mans skills on the mic and I hate when people do.

Snoop, MC Eight, WC and Kurupt have all been part of legendary albums, but besides Snoop..these cats havent been hot by any means. Adn even Snoop can be nowhere near this list, TBCT was his FIRST album that didnt go Plat, sales wise it was a big dissappointment considering his name. And Kurupt is actually the complete opposite of "hot"...the recent DPG albums have all BOMBED sales wise, and Kurupts depressing decline as an mc is as big a reason as anything. However you can make a good case for Cube bein on this list, in fact he has a better case than guys like Jay-Z and Game because LNCL not only faired well critically and was considered a bounceback album from Cube, but it went Gold and sold over 600,000 on an Independant. It was a huge powermove and was a big time success, so he actually can be on the list. WC has been droppin heat, but until Guilty by Affiliation drops we wont know whether he's "hot".

I left out guys like Too $hort, Warren G, Tray Dee or DJ Quik for example, because they didn't release dope shit in the near past or didn't release something at all. But to me, the guys on my list did that. Eiht for example dropped 4 albums last year and they were all mor or less cool. "Affiliated" is on of his best records seriously. Oh, and if sales do matter to you, then peep Mistah F.A.B.'s game, he made it into the Billboard 200 with his indi-released "Da Baydestrian". He sold like 5000 the first week, a good number for a bay artist these days. I was happy when I heard that because Fabby is a monster.

They said it a few times...."this isn't about who's the best of all time, and it's not about who's the best...but who's the hottest"...and hot doesn't represent what's best. As far as the criteria they based it on, I can almost agree with it to an extent. Even though Nas is obviously a much better rapper than Jim Jones, and Nas' worst album is still better than anything Jim has done, he is more "hot" overall as far as having the image, style, being on different mixtapes and remixes, and all that. The list wasn't even based on sales alone.I didn't think Game would rank that high, but he is really the only West Coast rapper who's "hot" in a mainstream sense. However, most of us here could care less about who or what is "Hot" because half of what's hot today will most definitely be cold in 2-3 years.

However, most of us here could care less about who or what is "Hot" because half of what's hot today will most definitely be cold in 2-3 years. The way I see it..the easy way to determine an artist's "hotness" is by comparing the profile the artist has today vs. what he had this time last year or 2 years ago. If he's getting more talk now, then he's hot...if he's getting less talk, or buzz, then he's not. That way we're comparing the rapper to the status he previously had, cause imo comparing a 2 year vet to a 15 year vet is unfair. Obviously a "cold" Snoop /Jay-Z will probably still be talked about more and have more buzz than a an up and coming mc but that doesnt mean they're "hotter". Anyway, thats how I see it..but I guess this can be interpreted a thousand ways.
LMAO how many of you thick headed muthafuckas can't proccess the words 'HOTTEST MC RIGHT FUCING NOW' through to your brains
