I'd rather have dre wait as long as he wants until he feels his album is ready. I don't even care about detox updates. when it drops it drops. I do know though, when Dre feels he's ready to have it released. it's going to be the dopest album ever created in hip hop.

The problem is that Dre is not just "waiting" to release, he has been recording new material all the time. Until he got the sound direction that he wanted, I doubt very many songs with him rapping over them were recorded. That being said, I'm sure Dre could have hit us with a tremendous album at any point over the last few years, so it is by no means a complete excuse for the repeated delays. I think we'll "understand" the delays once we hear the first single and the album.

Like some1 said b4 Dre doesnt give a fuck what ppl. say he gonna drop Detox when "he" (and only he) feels Detox is ready to drop. Honestly I seriously doubt that Detox will drop in "early" 2008......cuz 2008 is 4 months away after this month. And u know that Dre gonna have helllllaaa promotion for this album......imo he will drop the first single many months b4 the album drops......then drop a second single b4 the album drops........so imo if were all hopin' for a "early" 08 release then we need a single soooooonnnn........

In a way, this is one of  the most relevant Detox threads I've read in years....even though it's one of the most negative.

I mean, it's true. Yeah, you're Dre...but people really do get tired of waiting....and to be real, ONLY the die hard fans even care about it at this point! I got to Florida in 02, and when I got there, people who didn't care for West coast music were like "well the only good thing y'all got comin is Detox"....but five years later, if you ask the average kid who's 20 or under about Detox, they'll be like "what's that? Oh, Dre has another album comin out?"

I'm still looking forward to Detox, but not in such a way that I'm anticipating it like crazy. When it drops, I'll be hella satisfied. But for now, I'd rather look forward to the debut album from Omar, Jay Rock & Bishop.
