Is Mainstream Bad?

We all know that everyone here loves Westcoast rap, but do you think that Snoop is not as good because he is mainstream? A lot of people tell me that Snoop should not be represented as the West Coast King since they're "better" rappers then him that lay on the west. Is it a turn off to be mainstream or is that what you all like. Does Snoop make music for the mainstream or does Snoop use his own style and everybody likes it. You know what I'm saying? It seems like Snoop does whatever the hell he wants. The Last Meal wasn't really a album aimed at mainstream, he just did what he wanted.


And everybody hates on mainstream. Its nuthin new.

anyways, people make ALL mainstream music out to be bad and a bad word
but theres artists who make music that is deliberatly comercial and theres artists who just make whatever and it sells cuz it's just good...i put snoop in that category cuz he just does whatever makes him and his REAL fans happy

 Yeah, I agree with alot of what Jake said.

  Aint nothin wrong with being mainstream.... that just means you made it. Snoop came in tha game on that gangster tip... and he continues to do his gangster thing... he's making millions by doing what he wants to do.... you can't hate him for that.

  There's a difference between mainstream and commercial though. Commercial mothafuckers aint being themselves. They do what the Execs. want them to do in order to attract a bigger fan base. They got alot of muthafuckers out right now, that they dress up with Ice, and make them drink Crystal in their videos.... give'em some POPish beats and just ride off his 15 minutes of fame. They dont do what they want to do..... They do what others make'em do in order to top those Pop Charts. They're gettin pimped by the industry really...

   Like Jake said..... Snoop does what makes HIM happy... his REAL fans just feel what he's doing.

I dont mind if a rapper goes mainstream, as long as he doesnt change his style to cater for mainstream fans, like Jay-z did...
