Suga Free - Sunday School
« on: September 07, 2007, 03:47:50 PM »
Anyone got confirmation that this is real? On every album site (Billboard, CDUniverse, Amazon) says it's coming out September 25th.

Nothing on Suga's myspace about it. Is it just another compliation from Siccness like Feaures Vol 1/2 (which weren't that great). Sounds like it's coming out, but Suga Free hasn't said anything about it.

Coke head or not, he's making better music then 90% of the artists out their. Street Gospel, New Testament, Just add Water, all cool albums. Oh and thanks for the useless post.

I was searching for information about Sunday School a month, or so, back when someone first posted the link to CD Universe's page for it.  I think that they had it listed as Suga Fire though, not Suga Free.  I have not been able to find anything else on it.

Does anyone know the status of J-Steez's Return of the West Coast Mixtape?  The last time that I had contact with him, he was saying that it would be the end of August, and that he had so much content that he has upped it to a two disk release.  He mentioned that Suga Free was working on releasing a clothing line.  He used to have his screen name up on the Roof Top Muzik site, so when I talked to him, it was over AIM.  I am not too how valid that is, but he does check in here once in while, maybe he can clear it up.

Street Gospel and The New Testament are phenomenal albums to me, both of them have been on rotation as long as I can remember.  I did not dig Just Add Water; to me, it would have been a great freshman album, or a showcase album.  After listening to Suga Free's first two albums, which are structured and definitive, it was awkward to hear an album that was so diverse.

I give the two features albums play time too, and I do not mind how much everything switches up there because they are compilations, not official releases.  Plus Inside Out is a masterpiece in my book.

You heard the stuff he doing with J-Steez, and Josef Leimberg?

All classic singles released in the last 2-3 years. The thing is, your a DJ Quik fan, not a Suga Free fan. When Quik leaves, you no longer like Free, even though he sounds just as good over a J-Steez beat.

And Just Add Water had some great songs on it, just as good as any song on the New Testement, the problem was the album was too long, and had a few too many fillers. But still classic Suga Free.
