its not the same, cause you could like a movie a lot (favorite) but you can admit its not the best movie of all time, like for me my top 3 is Pulp Fiction, American Beauty, and Forest gump. BUt i dont think they are the 3 best movies i ever seen, they are just my favs

Not really. Some of my favourite movies are National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, Rocky IV, and anything with Chuck Norris in the 80s but no way do I think they are among the best films.

Best 5

1.  Jason's Lyric-  Powerful hip-hop golden age era love story.  About the good brother vs. the bad brother dynamic.

2.    Before Sunrise-   This movie only has two characters, and it is driven by the fascinating dialogue between an American guy travelling through Europe, who meets a French girl, and they only have one magical evening to spend with each other before they have to part ways.  It's about love at first sight, and special moments in our lives that live forever.

3.  Before Sunset-  This is the sequel when they meet again years later.

4.  Malcolm X-  Most amazing figure of the 20th century.  Father was a Christian minister killed by the KKK, his mom ended up in an insane asylum without the father, the kids were taken into foster homes, Malcolm ran the streets, became a drug dealer, criminal, and worked with gangsters, pimps, players, pushers, and number runners.  Dated rich white women behind their husbands backs.  Was sent to prison for pulling a robbery and being with a rich white woman.  In prison he was so bad they called him Satan.  But Islam brought him from darkness to light, and Elijah Muhammad taught him knowledge of self and an Asiatic, black righteousness description of his history.  Later Malcolm gets out of prison, because the leading minister of the Nation of Islam, travels to Mekkah, befriends white Muslims who he finds display no traces of racism, comes back to America after touring Africa and the Middle East, and dies a martyr.  Amazing story, and Spike Lee pulled it all off as director.

5.  Menace to Society-  Another great film from hip-hop's golden age era.  Gives life and personality to the lifestyles of a group of kids growing up in the hood, the characters are fully developed, dynamic, and is both mentally and visually stimulating.
