did u not watch the monday night cowboys and bills game...that was by far ther craziest game ive seen ....im glad the chargers won....cant stand the colts for the life of me..too me there just not an exciting team to watch..manning is jus to consistent most of the time that it doesnt make for a exciting game(cept today)

Man the Chargers had me ready to start breakin shiet again. For a minute it looked like they were gonna choke away a huge lead and let the Colts come back but we got lucky in the end. Antonio Cromartie owns Peyton Manning!

As a Colts (and Bills) fan I'm not too worried. Dallas Clark coming out at the last minute had a big effect since he was a big part of the gameplan in practice, and Ugoh's replacement is awful. It actually got better when Charlie Johnson went out. Chargers still suck. They did a great job at stopping the run but that's it. The game for the Colts was lost on special teams; two missed FGs and 2 kick return TDs allowed. SD did nothing on offense all game.

I get a kick out of when Manning makes a few mistakes he suddenly "an average QB". He's still the best QB of the 2000s, just like Favre was the best QB of the 90s (and Favre has had some real stinkers). Only 2 of those ints were bonehead moves. 1 was a great defensive jump on the line, 2 had as much to with Wayne as they did Manning, and the last 1 didn't matter. The only difference between Manning being Manning and Manning being average as far as commentators and pundits go had nothing to do with Manning. If Special teams made two tackles, that idiot ref didn't blow that whistle and the pass intereference foul was called it would have been 35-10 Indy.

Is Manning still the best QB in the league? Yes. Is the QB ever THE reason teams do well? Never. Put Manning, Brady, Favre, Montana, Marino, whoever you want on this years Dolphins and they'd still be 2-7 at best.

Football fans in general need to stop giving QBs, or any individuals credit for team wins. QBs don't win games. Pitchers don't win games. Goalies don't win games. The only time it would even be possible in any team game would be baseball and that would be if a tean won 1-0 with their picther pitching a perfect game with 27 Ks and also hitting the only solo shot HR as a batter on an NL team. So until a pitcher does that no single player ever deserves a W for a team winning a game.

I meant he's still the best of the decade and will be remembered as such unless he really starts spiralling down. Look at the numbers. Manning's numbers in almost every category are just below the guys you mentioned (except TD passes with Brady) and people say Manning's having an average year, while Brady, Favre, Romo, Roethlisberger are all having amazing years. For Manning to have an amazing year he'd have to throw 50 TDS, 5000 yards and 5 INTs. That is a testament to who he is.

The difference between Manning and those other guys is that Indy is the only route run QB pass first team. Favre is doing great but he was brought back to manage a defense first team that still relies more on the D than the pass. New England has the greatest O-line I've ever seen and a group of WRs that get open like no Colts group has ever done, and the D is still incredible. Pittsburgh is a stop the run/run the ball kind of team. Dallas is the closest in style and Romo is doing great, but he still gets more time and still has larger targets. I don't see Indy being any better than 7-2 with Romo, Brady, Favre or Ben in there instead. I do see Pit being undefeated thus far with Manning, Dallas being about the same, Green Bay being about the same, although they may have beaten Chicago, but maybe not, and NE woild be undefeated this year regardless of who was playing QB. Honourable mention to Carson Palmer who just happens to be stuck in a terrible system this year.

On an amazing team any one of those QBs would be fine, but on a terrible team I'd still pick Manning before any other QB in the league and build from there. The team wouldn't win all that much at first but I'd still think he'd be the best QB if you wanted a 2 to 3 year complete turn around. I still think if you wanted to turn your team around and you could only pick one player from the NFL to do that it'd be either Ray Lewis or Payton Manning above all others. Michael Vick comes close as a one man show type of thing.

I still don't get how after all these years they still haven't drafted a good large target wide out of tight end. A Randy Moss/Plaxico Buress or Jason Witten type. What often kills the Colts is that 3rd and medium play with no one to throw to in an emergency. A guy that doesn't need to get open just stand there and be big or strong enough to take the ball right out of the defenders hands. Harrison/Wayne/Clark aren't that type and the rest aren't that good. Iremember when Flutie helped turn around Buffalo in 98/99. Flutie was great, and Moulds and Price were on fire but so many of those drives were extended by Jay Riemersma and his ability to convert a 3rd and 5 with his giant figure. Buffalo went from a bottom 5 offense to a top 5 offense and he was a key factor. Todd Heap is that kind of guy these days. Those guys work great in the wide out positon too. Manning's never had the luxury of being able to throw a ball up in the air and expect the WR to get it by jumping over the DBs
and grabbing it.
