Sold pretty good although our buddy Jimmy stopped promoting it after the 2nd single. Good album overall. Midwest has dropped some good albums this year.

I Tried is great IMO.  The album was good but not incredible.  I'm glad they touched gold though.

It would have been curtains for Bone as far as another deal on a major IMO if this one did not sell. But I Tried did REALLY well on the charts, surprised me a little bit. And they even won a American Music Award for best rap group. I remember Layzie saying in the Dubcnn interview that they had a 1 album deal with the possibility of another one depending on how this album did. And they had enough material from this one to drop another album. Too bad they never got to link up with Dre for a couple beats. Now if they could just get U-Neek back behind the boards.

As a die hard Bone fan, I'm disappointed in this album only going Gold. Yeah, the industry isn't the same as it was back in '95, but we're talking about a group that tied a Beatles record(yes, The Beatles). S&L is a great album. No where near Bone's 1st three, though. U-Neek is the missing key, IMO. So is Eazy-E's overseeing. I know Bone Thugs are very disappointed w/ the song selection(thanks Jimmy Iovine) for this album and they want more creativity control over the next album. Congrats, though, to Bone for going Gold in a pussy-ass music scene nowadays.

Yeah by no means am I comparing this to their earlier body of work. Being a Bone fan myself it is their weakest album other than Thug Stories. The sales like I said earlier I blame alot of it on Iovine. They had another Akon track on there and it set it up perfectly to use that as a single or something more uptempo inbetween. So for that lack of promo, it was good to see the die-hard Bone fans still support this project.
