Nintendo: 6 million DSes sold in US

While all three hardware manufacturers had a solid performance during the first official shopping day of the holiday season, Nintendo scored the biggest win with more than 1 million total handheld and console units sold for the week of Black Friday. The hardware-maker claims it sold 350,000 Wiis and 653,000 DSes during the period, with the latter trumping Nintendo's previous one-week sales record of 600,000 Game Boy Advances sold during the same week in 2005.

Touting those numbers, Nintendo today proclaimed the Nintendo DS as the number one selling gaming device in 2007. With December sales still withstanding, the console maker says that it has sold more than 6 million units of its popular portable in the US alone through November 30.

Industry-tracking NPD group is expected to deliver its official sales statistics for November within the coming weeks. According to previous monthly figures released by NPD, Nintendo has sold more than 5 million DSes through October, which would put DS sales at more than 1 million for the month of November.

I doubt it will go down. It's already $100 less than either of the other consoles, and it's still selling out at many stores, so if there is a pricedrop it won't be for quite a while.

Well, where I´m from there is the XBOX 360 core arcade bundle that sells for 289€(!) while the Wii is still at 249€. I have no clue what that xbox bundle is missing (feature wise) but still it´s very close to the Wii so I could imagine Nintendo dropping the price to 199€.

i would say limited exercice, i dont think anyone reach 180 pulse/min or burn 300 calories playing on wii

haha yea wii sports is the shit, and i agree, u can definitely work up a sweat boxing, cant wait until a real boxing game like fightnight or something comes out for wii
