Shit between Omar and Bishop Lamont with their free cds I am set haha.

Here is the sad thing. You got these two artist (Bishop and Omar) signed to major labels and dropping fuckin heat and they do it for free!!! Then I roll up to Hollywood Blvd and I got these guys trying to sell me a cd for $15 dollars telling me they the next big thing. Do I respect their hustle up their selling their cds of course but $15 dollars no fuckin way!!!! Alot of these up and coming artist need to take notes from people like Bishop, Omar, BYI, Baby Ree, Take Off Productions and everyone that gives a fuck about their fans!!! It is a known fact that cd sales are way down but you still have some artist selling a good amount as long as they have a loyal fan base. I know Omar and Bishop both have a loyal fan in me.

^^^^Exactly. I thought LuLu said something similar in his interview with DubCNN a few months ago. All these artists dropping mixtapes, that's a good thing for the West Coast. But I just don't feel like spending 10 bucks or more every single time to hear a mixtape. I've bought Omar's mixtapes 'cause of the simple fact I'm a fan of his. I like Ya Boy's music, but I've never bought a mixtape. It's not that I don't like him, it's just that if I have to spend money on every single mixtape out there that I could possibly like, I practically wouldn't be able anymore to have some cash left at the end of the month.
There's a lot of good music out there, but some artists need to realize that dropping mixtapes/street albums for free may seem like a bad thing (they put a lot of effort into it, and now they give it away for free...I can imagine that has to be a bit difficult) but you'll most definitely get something in return for it. Count on that! If those people who downloaded the mixtape, like your music, then they'll certainly keep checking for you and they'll do some promo for you...for free. A favour for a favour, right?

Anyways, I already got these mixtapes (of course ) but I'm sure that lots of people who kept hearing about Omar Cruz the past few months will download some of these mixtapes so they too can find out what all the hype is about.
